Introduction
We have ordered these a few times on online store, and also purchased in-store, and my now 4. 5yr old still enjoys them in the shower! they write on the wall great and wash or wipe off with water. The one drawback for some may be the waxy residual that is left behind on the shower or bath wall. In my opinion, it's not an issue to use a tub/shower cleaner every now and then to clean up that waxy residue left behind but i can understand how that may be an annoyance for other families. Our walls are white so the residual is not really seen but on different types of walls it could be more annoyingly obvious. But, if your little artists would have a blast, do it for the kids! ; -). . *another thought to consider is the color run-off may be an issue for children that are dye sensitive. Also water makes certain colors leech dye, like surprisingly a lot, especially the green and purple, and can even slightly stain fingers if the child holds the crayon (like mine) as opposed to keeping it inside the plastic holder. This is a cute toy for a cheap price. Though, it isn't very good at 'swimming'. . Pro: cheap and cute. Daughter loves it. . Con: it advertises itself as a swimming toy. But the wind up wings only swim for like 3 seconds after a full wind up. It's a bit anticlimactic.

This little swimming penguin toy is adorable. It floats well and when you wind up the wings, the spin and propel it through the water. The propelling doesn't last very long and it doesn't go very far or fast, but its a fun little toy to add to your kid's bath time routine. I got this little guy for my twin 2 y/o girls about 6 months ago and he is still going strong. They lose interest in him for a while but always grab him once in a while and want me to wind him up so they can watch him swim in the tub. Very durable toy! he has been dropped, tossed and thrown but still works and no faded coloring or broken parts. Highly recommend!

It works quite well in the bath as long as there aren't too many bubbles. My daughter loves it and asks for it again and again (so, there is constant winding up required on the parents part. ). . Great for all ages.
At first i could not figure out how this winds up as there were no instructions. I was so disappointed until i discovered the arms do start to click if you wind them backwards. I felt stupid for not noticing but i was expecting a knob or something like many wind up toys have. My 16mo ild is mildly interested in it and is too young to wind up herself. When you lift it out of the water and drain the excess, put it back under and all the bubbles come rising to the surface like a real little scuba diver. Nice effect. It would be nice if the little feet also moved.
