I've ordered a purple gown for the doll, and a similar gown for my granddaughter (purple is her favorite color) - this is a first, in the past i've always gotten her specific princess dresses that she had asked for. This time she will truly be the belle of the ball and she will have this beautiful doll celebrating along side her. Maybe she will surprise me and will want this doll to stay in the pretty in pink dress and want one of the others to match her in purple. Who knows with kids! one thing i know won't be an issue is the color of the doll's skin. We have them in lots of colors and soon lots of shapes. I've never heard her choose one doll over another due to color. Usually it's the degree of nakedness. I honestly don't know how anyone can say this doll is too dark to be hispanic or so dark she must be aa. There's no way i could make that call from the complexion of the doll i received. Beautiful barbie that my daughter has nicknamed "elsa". The blonde hair and the blue/green dress certainly do remind me of that! i was a bit disappointed in the quality of the dress. The white top seemed fairly cheaply made, but my daughter loves it and it should hold up fine to normal playing. This doll is exactly the same as the ones in the store which is why i gave it five stars. If i was to rate mattel on this doll i would give one star. I've bought my 11 year old daughter a holiday barbie since she was born and this is the worst one yet. The dress is junk and even the plastic box is garbage. If this is the new mattel trend i might have to end her collection. This doll is dollar store quality where as the past dolls are beautiful!
