Review for takeapart vehicle airplane old

Price was $34.30. I bought this for my 2yo son's birthday. We have had it for almost a year now and it is still fun to play with and still looks new. My kid has crash landed this plane many many times and i'm amazed how it has held up. He still needs our help to figure out how to put it together after taking it apart but i bet in another year he will be able to do that on his own. The pieces are large, durable and easy to handle. I'm not super concerned when pieces are left floating around because the 'screws' are large enough that my youngest doesn't attempt to swallow them. I think this is a great teaching toy as well as fun to play with toy for toddlers. I highly recommend as a more unique gift!

Preface

I would give this toy 6 stars if i could. This was a birthday gift for my grandson and he loves it. My grandson loves to watch (and help? ) his father fix things and this gives him to feel of being able to use tools like his dad. The only difficult part, so far, is teaching him how to switch back and forth from screwing the bolts in and taking them out. I imagine this will be easier soon. Battat take-a-part vehicle airplane old model Review (68024am)

Love it. Teaches kids the building process. Only gripe is it should have come with a screwdriver & not just the battery operated drill. All kids want to do is walk around the house with the drill running continuously, draining the batteries. -X. Florence

I got this for my son for christmas, he's 2 1/2. He loves the drill, which it really quite neat. It comes with a phillips head, a flathead, and a bolt head attachment for the drill. The drill has two settings (forward and reverse), with a middle spot that locks the drill. It is very straight forward to assemble. Very simple directions are included with around twenty parts that go into the assembly of the plane, not counting the drill and bits. . I save 5 stars for things that really make me happy 100%. My only wish is that it would come with a bag of sorts to store pieces when not in use. We've almost lost the drill bits multiple times. Other than that, totally satisfied! he isn't able to do it on his own yet, but he loves to help assemble and disassemble! i fully expect this to be a big favorite soon enough. . Mine came in yellow, orange, and green with black tires - i actually liked these colors better than the picture. It does mention that colors may vary in the description, though.

I bought them when our granddaughters were just two years old, thinking that they were toys that grandpa would enjoy with the girls. I was right! at first all they could do was to hand him the parts as he asked for them. They loved doing that and they loved the time with grandpa. Grandpa loved showing the girls how to put the toy together. Now the girls are 6, almost 7, and this continues to be one of their favorite activities at our house. They still take the toy to grandpa (i keep each toy in a big zippered bag) but they can now put the toys together all by themselves and grandpa just hands them the parts. So cute. Our four year old granddaughter still needs a little help from grandpa but she can easily insert the screws and tighten them with the drill. After all of this time the toy still looks like new and the drill still works perfectly. The roadster was easier than the plane. Grandpa could tell that and waited until they had played with the roadster a year or so before bringing out the plane. They now love both but i would definitely start with the roadster."

We have the airplane and my 4 year old really wanted another one. My wife and i decided on the crane over the car because it had more parts and might give her more to work on. It was a little more complex, but she was able to figure out how to do it with a little help. While the drill seems to work a little better from the first kit we had, it was what i was expecting it to be. I like these because it allows the child to actually put something together or take it apart. There isn't much room for variation, but it does allow for a sense of accomplishment when it's finished. Best of all is that they can play with it once it's finished. My daughter has been driving it around picking up her other small toys.

The battat take-a-part crane teaches young minds how little parts go together to make big machines. The take-a-part crane lets curious minds explore how pieces work together to make a larger whole, and helps train fine motor skills at the same time. This set includes twenty-one (21) parts and a power screwdriver with three (3) interchangeable bits. Parts and fasteners are oversized, made for small hands to manipulate. Requires two aa batteries (not included). Recommended for ages 3 years and up.

Battat Take-a-part Toy Vehicles Crane Green (68026am 2) FAQ.

My 4 year boy is autistic and completely non-verbal but he has a passion for taking things apart and putting them back together. I have been looking for just the right toy like this and i think this is just about as good as it gets. It isn't perfect but few things are. What we love about it:. . - came packaged very nicely and with instructions. - is very well made! unlike other toys of this kind that i've tried by another company, these plastic pieces are all very solid and sturdy instead of flimsy and bendable. - is big! it's bigger than i expected which is nice! makes it much easier for little hands to assemble and manipulate the pieces. - the included power screwdriver (which takes two aa batteries) works well and has different screw bits that can be used and swapped out very easily. I bought other versions of take apart toys from other companies that come with regular screwdrivers but those are still too complicated for my son to operate. Power was the way to go! . - screwdriver rotates both ways for screwing in and taking out by a small switch on the underside of the barrel. - while a little difficult for my impatient son at first, it's pretty intuitive and he started picking it up quickly. - fun to play with when it's done! the propellor spins (not powered) and the wheels roll. . Things that could be better:. . - while it's great that the screwdriver rotates both ways, it can be confusing for a little one to figure out which way it's going on their own. It would be better with some kind of picture indicator by the switch showing which way takes the screws out and which pushes them in. - i'm so happy that it came with instructions but they're not meant for really little kids. That's ok, they made sense enough for me to help him the first few times. - it would be really nice if this came with an extra screw or two since if any of these get lost. Game over. . All in all i really love this toy and so far so does my son! well done battat! i did not receive this item free or at a discount -Notice from S. Connie, Utah

Bought this for my grandson's 4th birthday. It arrived all in tack in a very nice storage box which with care, can easily be reused to store. The power screwdriver needs aa batteries which you purchase separately. All boys love cars and putting this together and taking it apart, gives them the opportunity to play car mechanic. The screw driver turns both ways with a switch. One way to screw bolt in, the other to take it out, giving the child a more realistic play while at the same time, actually assembling it. This could also be considered a type puzzle since the car comes apart and requires assembly when first opened. I know he will love this and get hours of play. . To accompany this toy, i also purchased him a hardback book separately, "if i built a car". A story of a little boy describing (in rhyme) if he were to build a car, what it would be like. Very nice book with colorful artwork and love the rhyming which keeps child's attention.

- A. TheresaI purchased this for my 2 year old nephew and he absolutely loves it! i put it all together and just gave him the plane but he could tell the bolts came out and was using everything to try to get them out. After watching him try and try to get the bolts off i finally have him the drill and showed him how to use it and that was that! obviously at 2 he can't put it all together by himself, but he can with some help! he loves using the drill and knows how to make it go both ways to take it off and put the bolts back in. I hide the drill and give it to him when we have time to take it all apart and put it back together so we don't lose any pieces, but he plays with it all put together in the mean time! this was an amazing purchase!

Wow wow! this was the hit of xmas for my nearly 3 yo. This is an awesome plane. Looks great assembled and so many things to put together and take apart (i thought it was just three screws or something). The drill works great and holds up to my son's harsh use he quickly caught on to the forwards and reverse button (sometimes does it wrong then flips the switch quickly). My husband put the plane together first and took my son through taking it apart and reassembling it. By the second day he could take the plane apart on his own but still needs some guidance to put it back together. Which is great because it's a toy we can do with him as well. He can also take it apart just a little or all the way and there's different bits to put on the drill and he already can do that himself. All my family was obsessed with this toy. Cousins wanted to play too (5 and 7 yo). What's also awesome is that it works with the black and decker toy work bench we got him. He can use the drill from this set to screw in those screws into the work bench. Love that the parts are interchangeable. He's been putting it together and taking it apart several times a day. It's the toy he's been bringing everywhere. So happy we made this purchase. Highly recommend!

The F.A.Q. for battat take-a-part vehicle airplane old model

This plane is great for kids 3+. My 2. 5 year old loves putting it together using the drill but needs a little guidance. He does not play with it much after it is together and does not care for taking it apart yet. The unit itself is sturdy and easy to use. There is not much use for the other drill tips other than the philips head. I think you can use the hex on the wheels but that is it and i suppose you could use the flat head just to change it up.

A number of questions have been asked here.

This toy is awesome! and it seems to fill a niche where nothing else exists. What do you do if you have a small child who is fascinated by tools and building, but actually wants to build something real-not just put a screw in and out of a hole in a plastic bench? buy these "take apart" toys! . . The drill is very similar to a regular electric screwdriver. It comes with 3 bits (phillips, flat head, and socket). It also has a switch on the bottom for reverse. The size is perfect for small hands and seems to have just the right amount of power. . The plane is a little tricky to put together until you do it a couple of times. There is a precise order in which a couple of the pieces have to be put together. Up to this point, my daughter has only had to figure out where pieces go, but not "in what order. " this is probably a nice progression. It's a really cute plane, once it is assembled. . The only negative i have-and it's a big one-is that all of the screws are made such that they can be screwed in with either screwdriver bit. That's kind of a drag, and unnecessarily "dumbed down. " it doesn't match the level of complexity and ability that this toy requires to successfully put it together. I wish they required the child to switch out bits, depending on the screw used. There are a couple fused screw/nut combos that require using the third, "socket" attachment. But the rest of the plane can be put together without paying any attention to matching the bit with the screw head. . If anyone finds other similar toys like this requiring tools and parts for assembly, let me know! i cannot find anything for her to step up to.

Got this for my 3 year old daughter's birthday. She has not been able to put it down. She doesn't fully "get it" with all the different pieces and the direction of the drilling forward or reverse, but she has a lot of fun trying. It's also nice because i feel like she will be able to get a couple years use out of this toy once she masters putting it together and that is a very rare trait for a kids toy. My husband and i are having fun putting it together too - ha. Reasonably priced for a good toy. I plan to get this for my daughter's friend's birthdays too. I think it's great to see her mind work in a different way and figure out how to put this toy together.

Bought two of these planes for my great-nephews, ages 3 and 3. 5. They love them, taking them apart, trying to piece them together (they haven't quite figured that out yet, but they just received the planes recently), and most of all, playing with the drills. . The parts are quite sturdy and the planes are a nice large size. They are a nifty toy idea that's well executed.

Pro: kid can take this apart fully and put it partially back together. Great learning tool however the screw gun is a little big for little hands to grip the button. I would recommend redesigning that. He thinks its cool though because he can be like dad with his tools. . The screw gun itself comes with a few attachment bits which are great for him learning what does and doesn't. . Cons: he now likes to try to take the outlet covers off, good thing its plastic. He also likes to put it in his mouth while its spinning, luckily it's "clutch" isn't very strong.

Purchased this for our son's second birthday last month. Fell in love with the concept of being able to deconstruct a vehicle bolt by bolt using a toy drill. There are so many construction sets and building blocks available on the market, but i have yet to see a toy like this. It's essentially a 3-d puzzle that truly challenges the child's mind. And when you're done putting it back together, you can play with it like regular toy airplane. The only downside is the fact that the drill is a bit weak. Though i've noticed that it works just fine after having to hand-loosen the bolts for the very first time. Only use the drill that's included to loosen and tighten the bolts and there should never be an issue. I plan on purchasing the crane very soon!

I sent this to my cousin's 4 year old boy for christmas. My aunt tells me that it is one of his favorite toys. They sent me pictures of him playing with it and he really looks very serious as he is putting the plane together. He has made the drill a multitasking tool as he uses it to perform dental work on my aunt and cousins. I asked my aunt about the quality of the structure and she says it is excellent. I will now look to get the battat car, crane and/or fire engine next time i need a gift for a boy in his age bracket. They run from $15 to $25, and are well worth it. I will not get the 4x4 listed at $169! is that an error or just craziness?

This is an excellent toy! it is well built & sturdy. The battery-powered drill works well & lasts a long time. This is truly worth your money. I bought this when my son was 2 & he still likes to play with it at 6! now our 3 year old daughter enjoys it as well. My son has an engineering type brain & is great a creating building masterpieces, yet this has still been challenging enough for him. That's what i love about it. It really is a "teaching" toy that provides years of play & learning. I would recommend it to anyone with young kids. P. S. - the adults secretly have fun putting it together too! ; )

I actually ended up buying a few of these for my son and my nephew! they are so cute and the child really feels like they accomplished something! it comes with a screw driver and different bits that you can interchange to fit the differant screws neeed to build the plane! i bought this when my son was 2 and now he is 4 and he still pulls it out periodically to play with! he likes to pretend he is a mechanic.

My little boy received this toy when he was 2 years, 10 months old. He was tool-crazy and plane-crazy at that point and utterly enthralled. . The only parental issue i have with this toy is that i don't love the design of the rear landing gear. It is not intuitive even to the adults in the room. Otherwise this toy gets a solid a for design. . After about a one-day-of-constant-play learning curve, he was able to take the plane apart by himself. He still requires help, a few weeks later, with re-assembly. He still likes the toy, but at this point he seems to have sort of exhausted it. It kinda bums me out since i thought i'd found something developmentally appropriate that squarely matched his interest, but somehow he has already tired of it. See edit below . . I think this is a toy that will last longer if you pull it out for a week, then put it away for a month, then pull it out for a week, etc. . I do recommend. It's a nice educational toy and perhaps your child will get more mileage out of it than mine did. . Edit: my boy is now 3 1/2 and he does still pull this out one or two times a week so it has better legs than i thought it would.

This take-a-part airplane kept me and my toddler entertained for hours. I ordered it when he was still 1 year old, so way too early to take it apart or put it together alone. But even then he had lots of fun "helping" me. Around age 2 he was able to use the drill and only needed my assistance to hold the propeller for drilling and assist him on putting the right parts together. Now he is almost 3 years old and still loves to play with it. The drill doesn't work as well anymore and one of the propellers broke off (drill drills only when button pushed hard and only slowly after about 6 months of daily use - for a while we put the plane together and took it apart 5 times daily. Propeller broke after about a year, when my son dropped it from a high table - on purpose - several times! ). But after 2 years of constantly playing with it, i find it still a very durable product. I'm very happy with it and will order it again once my second son turns about 2 years old ; ).

I purchased this toy for my 3 year old son for christmas. He loves it and so do i. It is his favorite toy he received this year. On christmas day he took the airplane apart and put it back together at least 10 times, before i had had enough. At first, it required my help in understanding how to operate the drill; which drill bit was needed; and which order the pieces went together. Now in the middle of january, he needs almost no supervision. In many ways this toy is like a more complex puzzle. I am going to purchase the build it! toy next so he can learn how to use manual tools and be more creative in building. I'm glad we started out with the take apart airplane, though. I think using the motorized drill enabled him to learn the concept of taking the airplane apart and putting it back together without the added difficulty of learning how to use a screw driver or wrench. Also, since it only goes together one way, it's a good first step at an affordable price. . I rate this toy as excellent for parent-child interaction; teaching problem-solving skills and for keeping a child's interest. We don't seem to have any of the trouble with the durability of the drill as mentioned in some of the other reviews. One confusing issue is that a flat head drill bit is included but doesn't seem to be needed with the airplane. Not a big deal, maybe it is needed with one of the other sets.

I have owned this product for about two years, so having lived with it for a while i'll give you the good and the bad. . I got this for my son when he was 3 for christmas. He could not put it together by himself, but he could use the drill when he was directed. Now he's 4. 5 and he can put more of it together on his own but still needs some help. I find myself having to think through how to put it together. The bottom of the plane is a bit more tricky because of the order of the wings and the wheels and how it comes up through the top. It's a bit of trial and error if the screw is supposed to come up through the bottom or the top. . One other issue i have with it is all the pieces it comes with. I know, it states there are 25 pieces, but think about keeping track of all 25 pieces. There are the screws, the pieces to the plane, the drill bits and the drill. Trying to keep it all together with the way my kids play can be a bit of a challenge. At 4. 5 and 2. 5, they are not the best at putting all the pieces back where they found them or back where they belong. I recommend storing this in one bin or basket to try to keep it all together - because if you lose one screw, you won't be able to put it all together. It does not come with any extras. . Overall, i like the problem-solving aspect of it and having your child think through the steps. And they like being able to use a drill to put it all together. If your child gets frustrated easily though, just be prepared to help them or face a meltdown!

I purchased the battat airplane for my 3 year old for christmas and he absolutely loves it. It was a too difficult for him to figure out on his own, but after a few attempts, he has finally gotten the hang of it. The two key principals are: 1) using the toggle to determine the direction of the electric tool, and 2) teaching the principal of screws in sturdy, screws out falls apart. It took about 20 minutes for him to get them both down. My 7 year old even found the toy interesting and ended up doing most of the training. I thought that was fantastic. . In terms of presentation, i purchased direct from online store (sold by battat direct) and found the shipment, packaging, and quality great. All the pieced were in the box. The electric tool works fine and has sufficient quality to power the screws. I did notice one of the screw slots does not lock in any of the screw. I did not remove a star for this.

We purchased this for our son who just turned 4 today, after he spent most of his time at his cousin's house playing with his. He loved it so much, we decided to get one for his birthday. He had four presents today (for the number of years lived), and has played with this almost non-stop. He loves it! overall, i feel that it is an excellent toy. It is very easy to assemble (if you ignore the instructions and just use common sense, as the instructions are confusing! ), and the screws go easily into place. The drill works just like a real one, which my son found thrilling. It comes with different drill bits, and he has had so much fun using it to drive the screws into the plane to assemble. The drill even has the same functions on it as a real one - forward, stop, and reverse. You push the little button in the correct direction to change the way the drill spins. It really works to screw in and take out the little gray screws. There are a couple of things that could be improved if you are purchasing this for a younger child. For example, when you connect the top of the plane to the bottom, you have to also hold the little disc in place that the propeller fits onto. My son has found this difficult to do himself, so we've had to help, which is no problem to us, but he wants to be able to do it entirely by himself. He cannot hold the two halves of the plane together, while fitting the disc into the groove, and then hold it all together while using the drill. Same for the wheels. When you assemble them, you have to hold the two sides together while using the drill. He finds it difficult and needs help. He is pretty bright, and very well coordinated, but it's just to hard to hold all the things together at the same time, for him at this age. However, my 6 and 7 year olds can put the plane together, in its entirety, with no help at all, so if you are purchasing for a child around 5 or 6, then these issues will probably not affect them the same way. It's the same with the propeller. You have to hold the propeller on, as well as hold the screw in place, at the same time as the drill is being used, so i've just taught him to hold the plane, nose up, so the propeller can rest on top, rather than having the plane held straight where the propeller just falls off unless you hold it all together. He has found this easier already. Also, it owuld be better if each piece could be screwed on by itself, rather than having to put on, say, a wing but have to attach the wheels through it first before drilling in the screw. If the wing could be screwed on, then the wheels screwed on, it would make it a little easier for a 4 year old to assemble entirely on his own, without needing help to hold pieces together while he uses both hands to hold the screw and the drill. Other than these minor issues, it is a wonderful toy. It's very sturdily built and he has spent literally his entire day playing with this one toy. He puts it together, takes it apart, and then starts all over again. I think i've helped him build it at least 25 times already. I actually find it to be fairly fun to assemble with him, and he feels a great sense of accomplishment once he's built "an actual plane" (his words). We're a bit bummed that we paid $28 plus shipping for it on here, and now see that online store is carrying it for $20 with free shipping, but alas, we missed the boat, since we needed it here before today. We will definitely be looking for other things for our son in this series. Even my husband enjoyed putting this together with him!
