I bought this about a month ago on a whim for my now 18-month-old daughter. She absolutely loves her buckle toy! she's not big on the zipper (yet anyway), but she was able to buckle all 6 buckles without help within 2 weeks of playing with "bizzy". She can even unbuckle the blue one! her persistence has definitely paid off! this toy is the only thing that will keep her occupied for any length of time. I'm already thinking of getting another with more buckles (possibly the backpack). I definitely recommend if your kid seems interested in buckles.

This is one of those things where i find myself saying, "wow, i'm sure glad i bought that! " i was looking for quiet toys that would entertain my 12 month old on a long flight but was having a hard time finding things that were age appropriate. One mommy blogger recommended this for young kids, and i took a gamble that my "advanced" youngster would know what to do with it. Oh my goodness, to say it was a hit would be an understatement. After only one brief demonstration, she got the hang of it and loves scribbling on it whenever she can. I love it for so many reasons - it's lightweight, low-tech, has only two pieces (no silly cap for the marker), it's clean, and is durable enough to withstand the abuse that comes with a toddler's glee. Like many moms, i have trouble keeping my toddler busy when i am trying to get things done. This was initially an add-on to get free shipping, but i am glad i picked it! my two year old is great at finding every writing implement in the house, no matter how well we hide them. All i've got to do swap out the pencil/crayon/sharpie(! ), plop her down with this for a bit, and i am in business again. It is very lightweight, which is helpful for carrying around and for car rides, and it dries pretty quickly. I sometimes wave it around to make it dry faster, but she just writes over whatever she draws, anyway. The pen holds a good amount of water for multiple uses, but it is pretty small, so i am expecting to lose it soon. I am sure that i can buy extras or improvise, if need be. It also wipes off for easy cleaning, which is always a plus, and fits in to my diaper bag. I hadn't had any experience with this kind of toy before, and i was pleasantly surprised at how she is entertained. Her older brother, 8, also helps keep her busy by drawing animals for her, though i have caught him more than once using it himself. The more robust versions are more expensive, obviously, but now that i see how much she likes it, i will add it to my toy list for future purchases.

It's a manageable size for a little person but also gives enough space for her to doodle. I think it would be awesome if there were even more colors that show up as you draw, but overall very happy with this purchase, i hope it will last her a while.
My 3 year old son loves this aquadoodle. We haven't really tried to use it while traveling, but at home he has used it like crazy. My only complaint is that it hasn't been as durable as i would have hoped. But i guess how durable can something be with a 3 year old? i docked a star because the pen tip has worn and the mat itself has some splotches and places where it doesn't hold the water very well anymore because of stains. But my son loves it.

I surprised my two year old son with this on our last plane trip and he still requests to play with it most days. If you plan to use it on a trip, i recommend taking all the magnets out of their sheet beforehand and keeping them in a little zippered pouch inside the container. Also, the second scene mentioned is basically useless. It's simply two sheets of cardboard meant to be placed over the magnetic insides, but it doesn't stay well enough for the magnets to stick through.

We bought this to keep my 2 1/2 year old grandson occupied during church. He loves it! we didn't put the extra pages in and did not use all the pieces. I also bought one for his twin sister to play with, playhouse, and she loves hers as well. I like that the it is hinged so that the tin opens like a book and it stayed together. I would highly recommend them for this age.

We had several other activities/toys ready to go and this just never made it out of the box). I'm kind of glad we didn't use it until we got home though because there are several really small pieces. Yes, they are magnetic, but if they aren't on the tray, they can easily be lost. Almost too many pieces and a small area to play. Also it is kind of difficult (and tedious because of the number of pieces) to pull the pieces off the board to start fresh and play. I probably wouldn't buy this again for the above reason, but as i mentioned earlier my son did like playing with it.
This kept my 3 year old completely occupied for a 2. 5 hour period on a flight, and an hour on the way back. I left it completely intact and he had fun taking all the magnets out of the sheet, lining them up, separating the planes, trains, people, and other groups. There are a lot of little pieces, but it was 100% worth the peace and quiet on those flights!
