This is a great set. The house comes with lots of little furniture and even some animal people. Oh and there are actual working lights in the home. My daughter loves how she can do so much with this home. It is expensive but def. Worth the price for the size and all that you get.

Answer: Calico critters website says- house measures 12" x 12" x 12" while closed, 21" x 21" x12" while opened.
(2) Question: What all does it come with cause it says it's a gift set
Answer: Hi. everything in the photo
(3) Question: Does this gift set include the actual townhouse or is it just the furniture
Answer: It includes the house and the furniture and critters. Given the price of these sets, this one is a really good buy. My now 9 year old granddaughters also love it.
(4) Question: Would it be a good toy for a boy?
Answer: Calico critters creates high quality creative play toys. So it not surprising that a lot of boys at my toy store request them for gifts. I often here from mothers that the calico critter was bought for their daughter but it is there son who really enjoys it. Have a great day and i hope this helps.

We 3 this ! it would be nice if the company made add on sections . We would love additional bedrooms & bathroom. . Although it looks great as is, we had fun painting & wallpaper the rooms. We added flooring . It quickly became a hobby & a favorite imaginative play area as we couldn't resist adding on stores etc. It's our little village. . Calico critterso do not disappoint! my 4 year old is practicing interior & exterior design . We also use it as a stage while giving critters personalities & scripts. . I especially love that there are boxes to build which helps teach blueprint reading. . We are careful not to loose parts (teaching responsiblity) also impressed by the dexterity factor. Fills the senses. .

This cottage is wonderful! not to mention it came with bonus furniture at a fantastic price. The detail in all these tiny pieces is incredible. I know my 10 year old daughter absolutely loves it. It's different than the "usual" doll houses and let's her use more of her imagination while playing. I love listening to her playing with it, and hearing the little things she comes up with in that imagination of hers. Props to whomever invented and designed this. It's nice to see something different on the market for a change. Great job, and i will definitely be purchasing more pieces for this.

We love this house! my four year old plays with it and so does her one year old brother. We keep the tiny things put away for now. I added the wallpaper using spray adhesive and the pages from the calico critters website. I actually used their paper as a template and cut scrapbook paper that we liked better. It turned out so cute! i do agree that the batteries for the lights crash quickly!

Our daughter loves it. Good thing is you can buy and add more stuff to this item. Only complain is. Why you include two figures only (a mom and daughter)? where is the dad :)? we got the rabbit family to go with this and our 3 year old when she had them all together thought the guy had two wives. Crazy! we had to put the mom away.

Well i usually don't write reviews but i will this time. I bought this for my daughter for christmas and she loved it. The only complaint i have is that there wasn't an instruction manual or diagram showing how to put the few parts that have to be put together, together. If not for that then i would definitely give this 5 stars.

Bought this for my daughter for christmas. She loves it! the set up was easy. I was surprised by how many little tiny pieces there were. Like, the toast to go in to the toaster. While i'm not worried about choking with my 4 year old i did put up the smaller pieces to avoid the inevitable crying when she losses them.

Great play house set for our 3 year old. She plays with it almost everyday. The design and details makes up for the price of the set. I think this will most likely be passed down to her children one day. Fyi. The small pieces like the food, dishes, etc are not safe for a 3 year old. We put those aside and will be brought out when she's older.
