Roll It Deluxe Edition Board Game (Calliope Games) 4871

Review for roll it deluxe edition board

Price was $28.41. Even though there was some shipping issues, this game arrived on time and survived uncrushed unlike the shipping box that it came within. That said, even though i've read thru the other reviews, i had no problems with the quality of the dice. They were fine, the pips were fine, and the only thing i didn't like was the mango colored dice are ugly. Why they just didn't stick to yellow (traditional of the four colors) or even go purple (a big favorite choice in my group) i do not know and it is not a big deal. As for the cards, they are very beautiful, but the quality of the card stock is almost paper thin. For a deluxe edition you would think they would be thicker. Also, the backs of the cards are divided into 2 separate deck colors. One has a silver back and the other a gold back. They did ths to represent the purple and red non-deluxe original decks. Now if someone wanted to buy the deluxe edition to have both sets with the upgraded artwork, you would have figured the backs would be all 1 color. As it is, you can use either deck for up to 4 players or mix them up together for up to the 8 players. The metal box will not hold sleeved cards unless you are willing to ditch the tray insert. I would recommend to save the cardboard in the dice sleeve bag. It helps line the dice up so they slide back into the cloth bag perfectly. I do like the game and if you put aside the little things i've mentioned, you will find it a nice compact game that can bring life to any event. It is simple to teach and takes very little time to play.

The artwork is so beautiful with this game, and it's fun for everyone. I have a regular gaming group where we play games a lot heavier than this, but it's perfect for when we want a brain break, have non-gamer friends over, or when i want to play a game with my family. The rules are ridiculously easy and fast to pick up, and it's in a travel tin you can take anywhere. Really, what's stopping you? ! Roll for it deluxe edition board game Review (clp127)

Really fun game. Two can play it easily, and it is fast-paced and finishes as quickly as you want (you can decide how many points for victory). I love playing it with my son (11) or whole family (wife + other son 14). This is a very nice box and higher quality dice, though i like the dice even better that i saw in an online game (not sure if it is another, even more premium edition or an older deluxe edition). They are smaller than i expected (not "regular" size, but not tiny either), but they play well. Highly recommend. -S. Joanne

This game is simple enough to be taught to drunken friends at game night, highly portable, accessible to any crowd you're running with, and tons of fun. This has already become a couple of people's favorite game i own and they always ask to play it whenever it's my turn to host game night (and i have one friend who always asks me to bring it to his as well). Sometimes you just don't want to spend half an hour setting up a game board and follow along with more complicated gameplay. This game is perfect for nights like that.

It's very light-weight, i was able to teach it in a couple of minutes to a non-gaming friend. It's lightweight, and can take it anywhere. The only thing i wish is that the dice were bigger because they are tiny and easy to lose. Of course, that would necessitate having a bigger box (which i'd be fine with). I also wish that it came in a cardboard box, or really any other kind of a container other than a tin - tins have too much of a tendency to open up in the case that i use to carry my games in, and i just know one of these days i'm going to lose things. . If you want a game with deep strategy, this is not it. But if you want a casual dice-rolling game that anyone of any age can play, this will serve that purpose."

Sushi Go - The Pick Pass Card Game

There's a great demo of this game on youtube. Star trek next gen's wil wheaton shows us how to play sushi go. Since online store won't allow me to include a url, search "tabletop sushi go" (tabletop is the name of wil wheaton's series on board games). Sushi go is featured in the second half of the video :). . Lots of fun. Super adorable artwork. Great for kids (8+) and adults. And it comes in a cute "bento box" tin. A delightful game to add to game night.

Pass the sushi! in this fast-playing card game, the goal is to grab the best combination of sushi dishes as they whiz by. Score points for making the most maki rolls or for collecting a full set of sashimi. Dip your favorite nigiri in wasabi to triple its value. But be sure to leave room for dessert or else you'll eat into your score! gather the most points and consider yourself the sushi master!

Sushi Go - Pick Pass Card Game (Gamewright) FAQ.

This was the perfect game to have in our collection. Almost every time we have friends over, this game makes an appearance. It's pretty quick to play a game, and it's perfect for those times when everyone wants something fun to do, but doesn't have the attention span to play a more complicated game, or to play in between other games just as something light and fun. Our group of friends really loves to play magic the gathering, and they like that this game has similarities to drafting cards for magic. I imagine it would definitely be fun for kids to play, too, but it's also pretty fun for adults. Planning on getting the party version of this game in the future! -Notice from M. Bullock, Lorraine

A new family favorite! i ordered this game after browsing family friendly games that would be appropriate for our seven and five year old. It arrived yesterday afternoon and we have played at least a dozen times. It is a quick and easy game once you understand the concept. I did not have high hopes for the game upon opening it and simply reading the directions. We were all confused about what exactly we were doing. However, i did find a youtube video on the game and it helped tremendously. The kids love it. It is just long enough to keep their attention. As a point of interest, it is rated for 8+, but both kids have no problem with the game. The oldest (7) picked up on it right away and is developing her strategy technique. Initially, i was worried that the youngest (5) wouldn't be able to play since it was rated for kids much older than he is, but he enjoys matching sets and making groups. Totally not over his head, he has won the game several times - the only downside is that he cannot hold all his cards when a round starts so he needs a little help in that area, but not actual gameplay. When we play other card games, he uses a card holder, but you actually pass your cards around so the cardholder is a bit cumbersome. But like i said this is only an issue when a round first starts. Overall, great game, lots of fun, easy and fast.

- N. GuestSushi go! is a fun, fast paced game for those that love. Or. Don't love sushi. (my favorite are the dumplings. ) sushi go! is a wonderful, fun little game for 3 or more players, which allows the family to spend time laughing and enjoying each other with such a nice little game. The game features playful and colorful art, with a simple pass and keep mechanic which can test your memory skills, and your strategies. The game allows for all kinds of scenarios with different cards and scoring opportunities. . Sushi go! is a nice family game, which doesn't burden you with too many rules or things like that. Of course, there are moments when you get stuck with the chopsticks at the end (which score you nothing), or you only get one tempura (which by itself scores nothing), while at the same time, you may score huge points by collecting multiple dumplings. . I would suggest this game for anyone looking for a quick, sit down game for the whole family. . -justin mccormick- family game player and game designer

Sushi-go is a quick 10-15 min game that both non-gamers and gamers will all enjoy. The gameplay is a set collection game that uses card drafting to drive the play and allow for interesting, strategic, and bold decisions. Namely. What do i need to keep and what do my opponents need? . . The game is played in three rounds, and each round uses a combination of long term objectives and short term objectives that are discarded at the end of each of the 3 rounds, so each scoring goal for different card types must be completed within a single round or they are lost. There is one card, puddings, that are kept throughout the rounds. Whoever has the most puddings at the end of 3 rounds gets + points and whoever has the least amount of puddings gets - points. . The quality of the cards are like very nice playing cards. They're not to slick, they're just right really. The art on the cards is also very well drawn. . It really is a lot of fun, and because it's so short and portable you can play it anywhere and anytime!

Sushi Go Party Card Game

One of my go-to party games this year! bright, fun, and easy to explain. Always makes me want sushi when i'm done playing. The expansion definitely added a lot of replayability to the original game, and i appreciate being able to tweak the amount of "take that! " style interference in the game depending on who is playing. Having the "menu" laid out on a board so that everyone can easily see which cards do what is helpful. . Setting up and packing up can be a little bit of a hassle, but it's unavoidable in a modular set up like this where you want to keep all the card types separate at the end of the game.

It's a party platter of mega maki, super sashimi, and endless edamame in this expanded version of the best-selling card game. You still earn points by picking winning sushi combos, but now you can customize each game by choosing a la carte from a menu of more than 20 delectable dishes. What's more, up to 8 players can join in on the sushi-feast let the good times roll! .

Sushi Go Party Card Game (Gamewright) FAQ.

Broke it out last night, and played a few rounds with the family. We have kids ages 7 through 19, so finding a game that is good for everyone is tough, but everyone in our family loved it. We only tried the beginning deck combination of cards, but i could see playing with that set up plenty of times without getting bored, but there are so many combinations to make that i believe the game will have very good "replayability. " everyone picked it up really fast, and our 7 year-old didn't even lose. I did, but then again, i was taking risks, and everyone loves to get dad! -Notice from Y. Parker, Southwark

It's cute! it's sushi! together, they're a party! . . This is a pass-and-play card game. Each round every player starts with a hand of cards. You play one card, then pass your entire hand to the left. When all the cards are played, you score the cards you played. Three rounds and you're done. . It's easy to teach to beginners, but there is enough strategy to keep things interesting. Knowing what to play and what to pass, and guessing what your opponents will play, is where you win or lose. . The game comes in a good size metal tin with an insert to keep the different types of cards organized. The tin can be shoved into a bag or suitcase and taken anywhere without fear of damage or mixed up parts. The cards (and game tin) are colorful, cute, and attractive. There is a sushi go! game out there, but you want this one. It has a lot of different cards in it, allowing for loads of replay value as you can have a different "menu" each time. . And for the price? this is an amazing deal. It would be worth it for twice the cost. . My only grumble is that the rule book is just a few millimeters too large for the tin. The corners get mushed when you put it away. But if that bothers you, just do what i did and trim it slightly with a metal ruler and a click-knife. Oh, and you can't put sleeves on the cards and still have them fit into the slots in the insert.

- U. HannahThis game is incredibly fun. We loved sushi go! , but we were bummed that only 5 people could play as we are a family of 6. When i saw a new version that allowed for more players, i knew we had to have it! this one adds some really fun new game play. The only reason i can't give it 5 stars is because after only 3 games played, the cards are rubbing off color onto other cards. I'm hoping to find a way to contact gamewright and let them know about the issue. Hopefully it was just a bad batch print-wise?

Our family's favorite game. My friends & family highly enjoy playing this game. Our children are age 5 & 6 and learned the rules fairly easily. After a month of play, they developed winning strategies beyond collecting puddings, in her words, "pudding queen" or him "dumpling king. ". Also they use basic addition, subtraction, and multiplacation skills while playing. We started off with the sushi go cards and have now bought this set. The new additions allow you to play the basic way or add variety in point earning, as well as play style. We play the more cutthroat options with friends and keep it low key for the kids as to avoid meltdowns :)

Supporting so many players is a huge win for our game nights of 6-8 people and still fun for a two player head-to-head. Relying on little strategy and a lot of luck, it allows for conversation to keep the time together lighthearted and enjoyable. The tin is of great quality and the print on the cards are large enough to be clearly visible from anywhere at the table.

For one of the simplest games you could ever play, the replay value is incredible. Anytime i have friends over, we will eventually end up playing at least one round of roll for it. The simplistic nature of rolling dice and matching them up to pictures of dice on a card is somehow extremely satisfying, especially after you have just played an intense game like like pandemic. In general, it takes anywhere from 20-40 minutes to play this game. The more people you have, the closer you will get to the 40 minute mark. The deluxe edition is great because it gives you eight sets of dice and the cards have beautiful designs on them, as you see in the products pictures. Some people might say the game is overpriced, but take a look at what it would cost to purchase eight sets of different colored dice and a deck of cards (hint: it will be way over the cost of this game). This game is perfect for a family to play together after dinner, or a group of friends to play while drinking. Old, young-it doesn't matter. My 55 year old mother loved to play yahtzee, but after we played this game, she won't even think about yahtzee! roll for it is definitely one purchase you won't regret!

Roll for it is a simple dice game that is fun to play with people who don't like to play complicated games. I love boardgames, and have about 60 of them so far in my collection . When i take games to family gatherings it is difficult to convince my relatives to play. The game has to be simple enough for them to understand in less than 2 minutes. I tried to get them to play king of tokyo (too complicated for them), bang the dice game (far to complex for them), and even spyfall (over their heads), so most of the time we end up playing my brother's liar's dice (a game i loathe) simply because everybody can understand the rules. So i have in my collection of games ones that i think are super easy to teach. The card game no-thanks, the dice game strike, and now roll for it all have gone over great at family functions. Its an easy "filler" to play when my more "gamey" friends come over for game night too. The concept is super simple - watch the "watch it played" episode of roll for it on youtube to get a good understanding of how to play. It's really easy to teach and fun to chuck some dice. Is it complex? hardly. Does it rely on luck more than strategy - yes, but that's what my non-gamer family likes. Not too much strategy but fun playing a quick 15 minute game.

Great game even for young children to play. My grand daughter loved it. Had to change the winning rules to number of cards instead of point value so she could enjoy it. She thought it was great having battles for the same card. Highly recomended!

This game is a lot of fun. It s been a big hit with game day. The cards are good quality and the tin is lovely. It gets a bit tight to close unless you fit everything in just right. It s a good size for travel. The tin is lined and works well for throwing the dice into so you don t loose any.

Kind of like yahtzee (i said 'kinda') but you're competing to complete the rolls and get the points. Though there is a little bit of strategy involved, there is not enough to really overcome luck. That is a big plus for casual gamers when playing with friends to be social. Easy to play, takes only about 20 minutes, and keeping track of points is done with the cards rather than adding using pen and paper. I do wish there was more strategy and i think it could be done by adding a layer of complexity to the rules, but as is, not so much so. A good game though.

Eight of us (all adults) played roll for it! for a couple of hours last weekend, and we had a blast. Luck be a lady. It might make you want to cue up the soundtrack from guys and dolls. . This attractive little tin is definitely the way to go if you want to play it with a group of 4+ people. It includes more cards & sets of dice, and it's about the size of bang! , hanabi or sushi go. Very easy to store and it's portable. All big pluses. . The price seemed a tad high before we played it, but for the fun of the game and its aesthetic appeal, this collectable(? ) tin is absolutely worth it. This will be an easy-to-teach favorite for years to come. We're so glad that we ponyed up for this version, and i'd buy it again if i had to.

We play a lot of european logic style games, and this is such a quick, delightful break from those! . . Fast, easy, fun, we first played it on thanksgiving, with folks ages 7-80. All had a blast! we still use. . It often for comic relief in between our brilliant strategic efforts. Love it!

Love this game. You can get the regular version for less but the tin provides safe and sturdy (not to mention cute) packaging to haul the game around. With game nights all over the place, it was worth it for me to get the deluxe edition. Great game in the vein of yahtzee but with cards and a little more cut throat competition. Fun for the whole family.

A very fun and quick game. It is a good game to play with younger children. The game includes two decks to play with up to eight players and the quality. Of the cards are very good. The dice included in the game are small and some. Of them have minor flaws (i. E. The paint chips in several pips on one die fell out-. We used some whiteout to fix it). I would only recommend buying the deluxe. Edition if you know you will play with more than 4 players, otherwise buy one of. The red or purple editions of the game.

My family loves this game. We play it at lease once a week and the kids never want to stop playing once we start. It's easy to learn how to play and the games are quick. I would say this is one of the best rainy/snowy day games ever made. The dice are smaller than average dice but it doesn't take away from the gameplay. My only quibble would be that they could have made the storage tin a little bigger since it's tough to get the dice and cards to fit once out of the original packaging.

This is a simple game my four year old plays with me. It's that easy. On your turn you roll six dice then look at the cards out on the table. They'll have two pair, or a full house, or six of a kind, or 2 threes and a one. Random combinations. If your die roll has all that appears on a card, great, take it and chalk up the number of points on the card. First to 40 wins. . The fun begins when you don't have the required dice. You commit the dice that match to the card you hope to wrap up in subsequent turns. That means you slide your dice forward next to the card and leave them there, not rolling them the next turn. You can commit to multiple cards. And tension ensues when more than one person has dice committed on the same card. Who will get the die rolls needed first? . . Now we have a house rule that if you don't commit any dice, you can change one to what you would like it to be. This keeps people from accomplishing nothing multiple turns in a row. A bitter pill for 4 and 39 year olds to swallow. . Why only four stars? while my six year old likes to get a game of this in with me before i leave for work in the morning (yes, it's very tender), i do like a little more depth to my games, and i don't like when luck can keep you from progressing indefinitely. Who likes that? raise your hands. Be proud!

R. Walsh, Hillingdon

This game is amazing. It has given hours and hours of fun. The only thing i would like is a bit of a revamp on the scoring system. Make 2 dice cards worth 3, 3 worth 5(same), 4 worth 10, make cards that have 5 dice on them and have them be worth 15 and make the 6 dice cards worth 20. Just a suggestion. It's worthless going for 2 dice cards and too little payoff to go for the 6 dice cards
