Price was $13.99. I bought this as a gift for my engineer boyfriend who has a love for magnets and all unique trinkets. I wasn't too sure how well this would work, even though i've heard wonderful things about crazy aaron's putty, but i knew that we could return it if it didn't do what it says it'll do. . As soon as he opened up his present, he was so excited to see that it was the magnetic putty! he has seen all of these putties, but he had never seen the magnet putty, making this an extra surprise. He immediately opened up the container and began messing with the super strong magnet cube within the box. He made the "snake" and kept twirling it around. I also bought him a 3d scanner for his 3d printer, but this got him immediately hooked- so much so that we sat for a good hour just looking at it and playing with it, experimenting. . Some people attempt to make their own diy magnetic putty, but this stuff works amazingly well. It's more expensive and time consuming (and a bit dangerous if you aren't too careful) making your own magnetic putty, so i very much recommend just going with the pros and buying this trustworthy container.

My son asked, or rather begged, for this productfor his birthday. Basically it's a modern day silly putty. There is no real use to it as far as sculpting or holding its shape. It does not seem to pick up ink like silly putty, but it will "melt" into a puddle if left for several minutes. It will leave a stain on anything porous, and you definitely should keep it away from hair or fabrics. This color is really clear new, but after a day or so it turns to a gray glutinous blob with dirt and debris. It doesn't bother him one bit. After two weeks he's still playing with it. I recommend this for older children because of the possibility of ruined carpets, coffee tables etc. And perhaps a different color would hide the gunk. The liquid glass putty was more flexible and weighed less than i anticipated, reminded me of silicone caulking. The picture was taken about 20 minutes after the putty was placed on the crystal. I absolutely love the crazy aaron's thinking putty. I have several different varieties, and "emerald sky" is one of my favorites. It was just a bit stiff until it warmed up some and took a while to warm up enough to change colors, but turned out to be popular and fun for all the "big kids" (21-55) who played with it. This is the third tin of aaron's thinking putty we've bought. All of them are still great because they never dry out or harden, but we now have the color changing green, color changing orange, and this "emerald sky". I keep expecting my son to get tired of it, but he has played with these almost every day for several months now. He likes to leave a tin in the car and mess with the putty to entertain himself when we're running errands. All the colors are nice, but this one if my personal favorite. The color is so pretty! it's also pretty when it's warm, but in a completely different way. Our occupational therapist was so impressed with my son's putty, she bought herself a tin for the other kids to use during activities. Awesome product i have more fun with it than my son does. I will get more when i can. For all those reviews that say it doesn't come off fabric. Get some rubbing alcohol and use it on it. I gave this to a friend. He liked the color. I have the gray magnetic version and squish it all the time, at work. My 5 year old daughter was only interested in the magnet and all that for about 5 minutes. She still wanted to play with it after that but i didn't see her use the magnet anymore. So if it's for a child around that age, probably get this or another colored one instead of the magnetic one. You're probably safe as long as they're able to manage silly putty. . This is the best stuff for kids with autism or other disabilities, kids that need something smooth and squishy and pullable, a wonderful sensory to help them calm down. I got a bigger version of a different color about a year ago, and now i'm obsessed with these. Absolutely fantastic texture, beautiful rich colors. The one i got last year is still workable and beautiful. Great stim toys for those with visual and slime stims. I'm saving up for the crystal clear one and a few others. . My only issue is the pricing. It's a little expensive for a tin that is less than half the size of my palm. But as far as i can recall, they have an ethical workplace and provide opportunities for folks with mental disorders and disabilities, and i'm more than happy to support a company like that.

Thankfully, there are some time tested techniques for removing thinking putty from hair, clothing, and other sorts of fabrics. If the putty enmeshed itself into the pores in the fabric like blue jeans, simple scraping & tugging isn't going to remove it. First, remove as much of the putty as possible from the surface. You don't have to go crazy scraping away but you don't want a thick blob attached to the clothes either. Remember that putty sticks to putty very well. Use a small lump that you've scraped off to pick the remaining putty away. We are going to liquify the putty and the less to wash away, the less mess we are going to make. If the affected clothes are a natural fabric like cotton, linen, wool, or hair, we can use rubbing alcohol to remove the thinking putty. Pick up some 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol at the local pharmacy or grocery store. Position the clothes over the sink and liberally pour some rubbing alcohol over the stain. Using a paper towel or wash cloth, rub the rubbing alcohol into the putty. Immediately you should notice the thinking putty liquifying and moving away from the fabric. As you mix in the rubbing alcohol you can probably pull away chunks of putty that have become freed from the fabric. After the putty is removed, you may still have a minor stain on the fabric. This is the pigment that was used to color the thinking putty. A quick run through the washer will take care of this. Use a liquid detergent pre-treatment and the pigment should wash right away. Synthetic fabrics pose more of a challenge. The rubbing alcohol we used earlier will degrade synthetic fabrics - slowly eating them away. Instead, after removing as much putty as possible, spray the stain with wd-40 and let it sit for a few minutes. This should soften and loosen the remaining putty. Rub and blot the putty with a paper towel. If thinking putty is still staining the fabric, try dampening a portion of paper towel with rubbing alcohol and blotting the stain. If nothing else will work, and you really did a royal job on your clothes you need to take them to the experts. Drop off the clothes at the local dry cleaner and let them know the stain is "silicone-based". They may be able to use their secret powers to help you. "

If your child is having trouble, use your own hands to warm it up a bit or use smaller chunks of it at a time. Whatever you do, don't try adding water because it is water soluble and will only get sticky. Hope this helps!

Answer: The container we bought (which looks like the picture) is 3. 2 ounces of putty. It is a generous amount - the round container is about 4" across and about 2" tall and the putty takes up a good amount of the container.

Answer: It is like silly putty. I am sure that it could get cleaned to a certain extent. The putty does not stick to any thing you can only form it.

I love northern lights. It's soft (not too soft, but definitely not hard, ) squishy, stretchy, and really pretty. It does glow in the dark. It's a soft glow, but it definitely glows. The picture i took doesn't do it justice. . I bought the glass one too, and i don't like the texture as much. It's still soft, but it doesn't stretch. It just breaks apart.

Liquid glass- wanted this putty ever since i first saw it, because it looks so freaking cool. There are many negative reviews on the clear putty, and you should listen to them. This putty does indeed have a wow factor as soon as you open the container, but it ends there. No matter how long you set it out, it will forever have thousands of bubbles in it. Also, each time you play with it will leave streaks of oil throughout it. This putty is not typical putty at all and feels more like a giant gummy candy. It does not tear nor stretch like putty and it is sticky like tape. If you have long nails, it will become trapped under them. I do not recommend buying this for younger children. If this stuff gets into fabric or carpet, it will never come out. With that in mind, buy this at your own risk. Look up videos on youtube of someone playing with this stuff to make a decision. This is a supreme let down. Two stars out of five. 2/5. . Reactive razz: first issue here is that aaron claims that it is soft as regular putty, and that is not entirely true. This is putty isn't as firm as the previous magnetic putties, but it is not soft by any means. It takes a bit of working to get it softer and malleable, but it is still very tough to roll out, knead with hands, and explore the magnetic properties. Electric blue: another stunning putty from crazy aaron! this has mica powder swirled through it so it gives off a pearlescent shine. I honestly wouldn't call this color electric, but it is a very vibrant baby blue. This is a tough putty and maybe not the best choice for younger children since it takes a bit of elbow grease to bend this stuff into shape. This putty gives absolutely stunning effects if you make little balls with it and one by one put them in the tin and let it sit overnight. Great putty to own! 5 stars out of 5. 5/5

The liquid glass putty was more flexible and weighed less than i anticipated, reminded me of silicone caulking. The picture was taken about 20 minutes after the putty was placed on the crystal. While working with it, it quickly filled with bubbles and the surface became opaque, but it clarified after a minute or two.

I bought this because i am a hard-core science geek and i have a lot of very powerful magnets to play with. The product works exactly as described except for the long-span reaction, which is supposed to be a fluid-type reaction where it smoothes out and looks like a little droplet. It never really smoothes out, even after a week the quarter-sized glob i was testing held ridges and my fingerprint, although it did spread out pretty well. (that whole issue may be due to the added magnetic properties, which can reduce the liquid reaction state. ). . I just want to warn everyone who is thinking about this product for a small child: it s very cool, great way to learn about magnetism and hexotropic substances (latter for older students, obviously) the way that it is made magnetic is by suspending ferrous particles in the putty. These stay in the putty fairly well. (no detectible magnetic reaction reduction after 3 weeks of 3-4 hours/day being magnetized and demagnetized repeatedly) however. They can, and do, come out. Even if you play with it for a few seconds, i recommend passing the included magnet over your fingers and hands and washing well because they hurt bad when you get one in your eye. I learned this lesson the hard way and just wanted to let parents, teachers, nerds, geeks, and all the other people who might touch this stuff so that they can avoid it.

Crazy aaron's thinking putty is always a hit at our house. This is one of our favorites. . The tin that it comes in is perfect to store it in and if you have other putties, they all stack in a neat pile! the uv light is included with this putty. We have bought other uv reactive putty that did not come with a light. The putty is white until the uv light is shined on it. Then, it turns a fushia color and glows. It is stretchy and bouncy, just as advertised. . Since the putty is white, it will get other stuff (dirt specs mostly) in it over time. This does not affect the performance in any way. My kids and i don't really care but some people might.

For everyone who's wondering how this works. If you take a regular magnet and put it near the magnetic putty, the putty will travel towards the magnet over some time. Why? there are small particles of magnets in the putty, which are each individually drawn towards the regular magnet. When they magnetic shards are all drawn towards the regular magnet, they move together and make the putty appear to be moving towards the magnet. . -the putty is very well made and does not become soft over time. -the putty does not lose it's magnetic power over time. -the putty does not have a weird or unattractive smell. -you do not have to worry about feeling the magnetic pieces in the putty. . I would say the only downside about this putty is that you have to wait some time for the putty to travel towards the regular magnets.

I bought this putty in 3 different colors! a large tin of super scarab and two small tins of super lava and super oil slick. . The putty is very fun to play with and the amount that comes in each tin is more than enough. . The smaller puttys are much tougher than the large tin. All of them feel slightly sticky when playing with them but they leave no sticky residue on your hands. They will stain clothing and furniture so if you're buying these for kids i would take the same precaution you would with playdoh. . Super scarab is by far my favorite color, depending on the lighting it changes from purple to blue and green. . Oil slick is my second favorite, changing from green to yellow and copper. . Super lava was a little disappointing. The flash on my camera made it look red but in reality it's more of a copper/brown color. I didn't see as much color change in this one as i did in the other two. . All in all i'm very happy with this purchase and i will probably buy more in the future.

The amount of iron shavings in this seems to be on the lower end of the spectrum (the magnet may be weak, but it's strong enough to snap to the tin. ) if you work the putty in your hands to disperse the shavings (and warm the putty up so it's a bit more malleable) the provided magnet will be able to attract it as intended (it will work better if you have a stronger magnet on hand. ) you have to be patient with it though; it works best if you hold the magnet so it almost touches, and slowly pull it away. It does work, but for the price i was hoping there would be a higher percentage of iron shavings for a more noticeable reaction. . It was purchased as a gift for a co worker to keep on his desk (for him and others to play with) and while it does work, the general consensus is that it's neat but a bit underwhelming. If you get it, you may want to invest in a better magnet.

This putty is very nice, especially if you get anxious sitting still for too long like me. It's not sticky, it doesn't dry out, it glows well in the dark, it's very sparkly and yet the glitter doesn't come off. The only thing i find slightly upsetting is how the container makes it look like you're getting more putty. I've had the mini tins before and don't get me wrong, this tin has more putty inside it then the mini tin. But this tin could've held 3x as much as it actually has in it. Still love it though!

I love this stuff! i ordered northern lights and it arrived after two days (! ) and the packaging and everything was in perfect condition! it's a gorgeous color and glows a bright blue. I also have super oil slick and candy cane and they're also really nice colors. I like playing with this while in in class or watching tv. I reccomend this product to people of all ages!

My little brother was so excited to get this product that we ordered it right away. We expected it to arrive after two weeks as it is from us and we live in luxembourg but it arrived already after one week and that made my little brother very happy. He's really obsessed with this liquid transparent glass. He even made a little braid out of it and reformed it afterwards into a plate. During the night in its pot the putty reformed back into its original shape. I would recommend this kind of toys to children who really enjoy to create and form figures out of it (but not children from 0-4 in case they would swallow it). The quality was also really good and despite the long journey it has to travel to arrive at our place it was maintained in a good shape. This may be an old-fashion way to bring joy to a child, but as long it's fun, it's worth it.
