I bought this for my son for christmas when he was 8 months old. He has a few toys that have small doors on it, and he just loves opening and closing them. I was really excited for this toy, and thought he would love it. . The door on the treehouse is difficult for him to open, because there's a plastic notch in the door hinge so it catches when he tries to open it. He gets frustrated trying to open it, so i usually help. He can close it on his own. . The other features on the toy are difficult to use as well. The red tab that goes up and down is hard to move, as well as the bird on top. He is almost ten months now and still can't use most of the features on the toy. In a few months i think he will enjoy it more. . I think this toy is better suited for older babies, not 6 months and up as it claims to be. I got this for my twins when they were one looking for ways to help develop their fine motor skills. At first they loved the different shapes. I liked how each piece has a different quality to it, such as the dog rattles, heart has a mirror, house door opens, etc. As they started to figure out how to fit them into the puzzle slots, they were large enough for them to hold and maneuver into the right place. I also like how the place on the board has the matching picture, which helped them find the right place to start by finding the "match. " my only negative is that the cat collar is hard for their little hands to squeak. They like hearing it when i squeak it, but become frustrated when they can't get it to work. But on the plus side, almost a year later and they still enjoy playing with it, even though they can now do more advanced puzzles. -Notice from J. Gina, Merton

My 12 month old enjoys it even though she doesn't know how to put the puzzle pieces into the right spots. She loves the animals. I can see her growing into the toy and using it as she gets older. One thing is the cat is supposed to squeak when you press it's collar - it's almost impossible for me to get it to work (have to put a lot of force into it), so i doubt she will be able to ever do it herself. Overall i think it'll be a good toy to develop her fine motor skills. I'm still a sucker for old school wooden puzzles - but that's just me.

I bought this puzzle for my daughter's first birthday. She loves it! the colors are vibrant and the pieces are large and easy to fit in their slots. Each piece does something different. I can get her to sit and play with this puzzle for a while. The only con is the yellow board used to hold the pieces is slightly thin. I would highly recommend for young toddlers. My son loves this. I thought he'd be bored within a few days but he consistently loves playing with these blocks. He's 21 months old and can stack them easily but still loves playing with them, even if in short bursts.

I purchased these for my son as one of his first sets of blocks. I think they are a great toy for him. They are not only fun, but they can be used as a learning tool. Each block is a different color and has a picture of an animal; a number on the top of the block along with dots to signify that number, which can help with counting; and different textured patterns on the sides. They are light enough to pick up easily and easy to clean if needed.

I didn't really like the idea of them not being solid either, but it turns out i know nothing! our then 4 month old (now 5+ months) loves these, and the open bottom makes these much easier for him to wrangle; the soft blocks he also likes, not has trouble grasping & given the option of either, he'll go for these first. They have nice bright colors, are a good size, have textures on them as well as animal pictures & numbers. They are also very lightweight, so although he loves knocking them over & tossing them around, no one gets hurt.
We gave this to my son when he turned 6 month old and he started to sit up. He absolutely loves them! loves to hold the block and to knock them over. Plus they are nesting block and can easily fit in the diaper bag to travel with us. Highly recommend it!

Bought this toy when my 1st grandchild was about 10 months old. I now have 4 grandkids & thought it was a flop when none of them had any interest in it up till about age 2. Now the 2-3 year olds love it. They will play with it for a long time. Bright, colorful & well built. It really does take a beating but never breaks!
Babies love pop-up surprises especially when they get rewarded for making the fun happen! four cute and friendly bugs pop up, bouncing and bobbling with fun sounds when baby pulls, turns, slides and presses colorful buttons. Baby can bat at them, too, to make them bob up and down!

Wanted to introduce some more "cause/effect" toys into my son's play routine. I like to offer him organic items from around the house. But there is still something quite satisfying about pushing a button or twisting a knob and having something happen, so i bought him this one. He figured this toy out in about 2 days. He loves it and will spend 30 minutes with it on his own. He'll often crawl away, play with something else, and go back to this one.
- G. LawrenceThis toy is well built and definitely durable. . The little heads pop up when the lever, switch, dial, or button in front of them is activated. Each one makes a different noise (ping, click, etc. ) and has a different method to pop up, so it gives our 10 month old a variety of methods to learn. She's able to pop them down again and do it again, and no batteries are required, so it's all baby power. It seems to keep her interest for quite a while, and overall we're pretty happy with it. Occasionally, if one of the switches gets positioned just right, you can't pop the head with it back down until you adjust the switch again, but this doesn't happen very often. . The biggest downside i can think of (which has nothing to do with the toy itself) is that because of how easy it is for her to get a hold of, she occasionally picks it up and slams it against the floor when playing with it. So it is definitely durable, as it has taken quite a beating and works just fine.
Overall this product is nice quality and smaller than i thought which makes it nice to throw in the car to bring along for entertainment. My only complaint is the bugs pop up way too easily. My baby doesn't really have to operate the toy in order for the bugs to pop up. She still likes it and plays with it but it isn't helping her too much with her motor skills. She took an interest in this toy around age 8 months. . Pros. Cute design. Bright colors. Portable. . Cons. Bugs pop up way too easily. Could be slightly better quality so it functions better

Another fisher-price product that hasn't changed much in 40+ (? ) years. It is bright, sturdy, well made. I've bought the rock-a-stack several times during the past 30 years and have never been disappointed with it. I think fisher-price makes kid safe and fun toys that last a long, long time!

Wait there is something wrong with this picture! i would love to just skip over the "throwing" stage! i am able to get her to retrieve them too, as we are "looking for them" to put away, so it all works out.
