Very fun lego technic building kit. My 6 year old nephew loves to build lego's and the technic series is a little challenging for him which i love. He follows the instructions and builds the toys. Many technic lego's are pull back racers which makes them extra fun. Great set. The movable parts add to the fun also. This is probably the only set i have purchased so far that i felt the second design looks better than the major one.
- N. YvetteIt was a gift for my grandson and he loved it! he is 10 so is was a little more difficult than his other lego sets. He and his grandpa spent an afternoon building it.
Much larger in size and difficulty than we expected, but our grandson loved the kit. Would recommend it to anyone especially since it can be built two ways.

LEGO Creator Super Soarer 31042
Just built this set with my son. It's only 100 pieces, but still a very nice representation of a f-14 tomcat. It has a very ingenious method for building the wings which work like a real f-14. We haven't built the other 2 models yet, but the primary model is very good. This is a typical high quality set from lego, with an unexpected and clever building technique for constructing the wings.

Another solid quality model from lego. To anyone that questions lego's pricing, trust me, their bricks are the highest quality that every other company aims to copy. After cheaping out and trying other brands that there a fraction of the price, i'm back to lego and have this to say: no other brand makes such a high quality product as lego. Mega blocks is a mid range 2nd but cogo/cogi is the worst of all plastics. I digress. . Short answer: jet fighter model was cooler than i expected and well worth the price!

I love that these sets are a little less complicated than some of the bigger trucks and mega packs and the whole point is to build and rebuild into different things. This is a great little set that encourages learning how to build a variety of objects with the same pieces - which for me is the best part about legos.
Another plane for an airplane lover! (a lego lover as well; ) 11yr old. Lol; ) great for all ages!

I really like the boat build. You can learn a lot by studying its construction. The standalone submersible build is just ok. The plane is an abomination so i subtracted one star. . This kit has synergy with 31043 in that the crane on the boat can be used on the truck and the helicopter fits on the boat (even if not realistic).

Honestly, i think as a parent most of my lego reviews would be about the same: my kid loved it! the creator collection is a creative approach that my budding master builder has been enjoying more and more as he begins to see the value of the "kit" and actually save the pieces to create more than one design. This set does not float at all, in fact it is still a great piece but just don't have any expectations that it will be a great bath toy. We did not buy it expecting it to float, i am just saying for those that think it will. It will not. . Still a good lego set and a five star review for me. . I did not get this for free, i did not get a discount, i paid with my hard earned money and decided to purchase this biased on real reviews.
- R. WaytWho doesn't love legos? this set is perfect since the child can assemble three different toys. Boat, plane, and submarine. But not all at the same time - so keep that in mind when you purchase the set. It's wonderful to create the boat. Put that on display for awhile. And then take it all apart and get ready to assemble one of the other options. We have lots of legos. So my advice would be to keep this particular set in a separate zip lock bag when it is apart so that reassembly into one of the other options is easy since all the parts will be together. . The boat, btw, doesn't float. But that didn't stop our grandsons from bringing it into the tub for playtime. We haven't put the other options together as of yet as we are still admiring the boat! lol! my 5 year old grandson followed the step by step instructions that come with all lego products and had this assembled in minutes. . Great toy and especially love all the options that it comes with.
Fun set, great price. My 6 year old grandson really liked it, & had the boom moving the little submersible around in no time. He also likes that he can make more than just 1 build with this set. Legos are terrific!

I purchased the model 42046 lego technic getaway racer as a christmas gift for my 8 year old nephew and he was thrilled! he is very smart, started building with lego kits at age 3. He built this kit in about an hour or so, without any help. I purchased the technic police interceptor kit 42047 also, which aside from being a cool vehicle, can also be used together with the 42046 to build a much bigger, way cooler vehicle. After he built and played with the interceptor and the racer for a little while, he took both cars apart and built the "extreme police racer" a six-wheeled awesome looking vehicle resembling a dragster. This model is more complex, took a bit longer to build, but he had no trouble building it. It uses both of the pull back power mechanisms, making it go a little faster. My nephew was very excited to receive both kits. I'm very happy with both purchases and recommend buying both sets. My nephew worded it best. "its like getting 3 kits! "

Bought this and the police interceptor 42047 for my grandson and he loves them! the two sets actually can combine and make another vehicle. You just need to go to lego website and download the pdf file instructions. This was my first purchase of the technic brand of legos and i will be buying more for my grandson.
