Introduction

As with any of the toolkits wotc publishes, you won't find anything of spectacular value in this. What you do get however, is a great assortment of land and lots of commons to fill out your decks. It comes with a few booster packs, which are always gambles in terms of quality, but the most valuable stuff will come from those, not from the cards included with the kit. There is a rare/uncommon of each of the five colors though, but as i said, they won't be of spectacular value. It's good for any collection nut, like myself. It adds a big chunk of cards to your collection for under 20 bucks and that's not a bad deal at all. It made my friends who bought the intro pack buy this as well because of the value. If they had only known about this kit, they wouldn't have bothered with the intro pack. I've built a black/white deck using the kit that trumped both my friend's intro decks. . To get a feel on how to play mtg, skip buying the intro pack and download magic 2015 on your smartphone or magic origins for pc steam. They have tutorials there on gameplay/mechanics. Once you kinda know how it works and decide you want to continue with mtg, then buy the deck builder's toolkit and build your own. -Z. Franklin

Mtg Magic Gathering Origins Deck Builders Toolkit (WTCB25420000)"Fun starter set, but understand that it's a starter set. This is not the same as a magic origins fat pack. In a deck builders toolkit you get a nice box and boosters from recent sets - they will not all be from origins. In addition to the boosters, though, you get a semi-random selection of cards. Semi-random in that not every kit has the same cards, but they're all chosen from a pool of staple cards needed to build decks. For example, you'll get a variety of mana costs, you'll get some elves that can tap for mana, some goblins, etc. It's a great way to get started with deck building in mtg if you haven't done it before. So, in terms of "on ramping" into mtg, it goes something like "intro decks" to "deck builder toolkit" to booster packs."

Great for both starters and collectors. Not the best bang for your buck but it includes useful accessories not found in other bundles. If you're looking for cards, you might wanna straight up buy a booster box or if you're a beginner more interested in the cards and not accessories, go for the deck tool-kit as it includes more land and cards but not as many accessories. Make sure to buy sleeves for your cards if you play a lot! there's so many opinion on sleeve brands that i will leave that research up to you. . Overall i am extremely excited to get into magic and i'm glad i chose to do so right as this was coming out. :)

Box was pristine, sealed, and contained everything that was asked for. The deck boxes are just flimsy cardboard foldables, but they suffice if you're not sleeving your cards. The player's guide was actually cooler than i expected, well made and with a built in visual card spoiler for the set. I would probably give it 4. 5 stars but i'm rounding up. If you're a beginner, it would probably be better to start with 2 intro packs or a clash pack so you have some pre-built decks you can start playing with right away (with the fat pack you have to manually build your decks). -Notice from J. Great set for people who like to play magic and want new cards. That shouldn't even be a thing anyone should have to say ever, but there are a lot of people who buy sets/boxes for resale value or whatever. I'm not trying to generate income here, i just want to play magic with my kid. This fat pack is cool. The box even unfolds into a cool little poster. I was going to buy the battle for zendikar fat pack, but it's way overpriced at the moment.

You know what you are buying and the reason you are buying it in the first place. Opening it was fun and you have a good chance of getting a good rare or mythic rare in these, especially cause there are 9 booster packs. I purchased 5 fat packs of different sorts to get a good idea of how they work while expanding my collection because i am just getting back into magic, and they completely satisfied me. Not everyone fat pack will be that diamond in the rough or have that exact card your looking for, but you know you always have a chance and that they are super fun to open!

Though some problems happened during shipping with my item being stolen after being delivered which was a huge blow for me it was all sorted out with a quick and easy replacement thank you online store for that i would like to say the fat packs are amazing i got a bunch of tokens and some good cards. I just got into magic to be honest and i was going with a blue white prowess deck but it wasnt working well and instead of buying cards at the shop i work and play at regularly i decided to try my luck and buy a fat pack and 2 core kits and i opened them up in the store with friends out the first 2 packs literally me and my fiancee pulled not only chandra but a foil jace as well. We also pulled some goblins including a pile driver. So this is definetely worth it in my opinion right after i was so hyped i decided to buy another one from the actual store i was at and pulled not only another chandra but liliana as well as some hangar back walkers. At this point the store owner flipped out not only because hed never seen somebody pull 2 planes walkers but because i pulled 2 of them twice out the first 2 fat packs i got. Ive been pretty lucky to be honest since then ive been buying boosters packs at least 3 a day and of which 1 or 2 had a mythic ive gotten som nix cards and pyro mancer goggles but who am i to go on point is great deal here and great chance at good cards take it

Ultra Pro Magic/Pokemon/YuGiOh Cards Deck Boxes, Set of 5 Red, Blue, Green, Black White

I purchased these for my mtg collection as i'm building way too many decks and want to keep them neat and organized. The material is solid and dependable - i haven't had any issues with the lid opening or closing incorrectly or anything. The colors are great - as others have mentioned, the green is a bright, lime green color and the blue is closer to a light sky blue. If you can remember what decks are in each box, i recommend using a color that doesn't correspond with your deck (example - i have my zombie deck in the green box). That way your opponents can't guess what deck you're playing with until your duel begins. . Anyway, i've never had a problem with ultra-pro products and i'm happy i've purchased these boxes! i highly recommend them!

I store magic: the gathering decks in these, encased in dragon shield sleeves. I can easily fit a standard 60-card deck in each box with room to spare. . I like these deck boxes because they are heavy-duty plastic, making them durable and waterproof. Of course they do not seal so you cannot immerse your deck in the bathtub, but if you have one standing upright and spill your beer next to it there is nothing to worry about (other than wasting beer). . One concern i had before buying was knowing they are plastic: how will the "hinge" hold up? the plastic is thick and creased, and the construction around the hinge area is reinforced. Nothing lasts forever and i imagine that eventually the plastic will crack, but i have not had any problems so far and based on the construction i expect these to last a very long time. -Notice from F. Very nice basic/beginner deck boxes. I used them for my magic decks. They're nice and sturdy, and stood up to a few drops while full of cards. Despite lacking any sort of fastener, they have not once opened by accident, even when they were dropped. They hold 80 single sleeved cards snugly, but can not fit 75 double sleeved cards so i couldn't give it 5 stars. I use these for my casual decks, but use hard cases for my more expensive decks. I'd recommend this product to anyone starting out, or needing to protect a few cheaper decks. Commander decks (100 cards) or more valuable decks (which should be double sleeved to waterproof them) would need to look elsewhere.

- E. AlbaThey are what they are. Deck boxes, at a great price. What more do you need to know? . They are plastic, feels good enough but not so much for daily active use. No real hinge, just bending plastic. No closing mechanism ie. Clip, pin or velcro. It just closes so nothing to hold it shut. My only real gripe with them is that they could be a little bigger. If you're using sleeved cards then you will probably only fit around 80 cards in a case. That's not really a big issue, but i use these for mtg decks and i like to have a few extra mana, artifacts and situation cards set aside for last minute adjustments depending on the deck i'm fighting. I don't like to use more than 70-80 per match, but honestly i would like about 100 to choose from at any given time.

If you're looking for an inexpensive way to organize and transport your magic the gathering decks these are a great option. . Each box holds about 140 unsleeved cards or a deck of 60 with space for dice and some counters. Although the construction feels a bit on the cheap side, the plastic is fairly heavy-duty and stays closed well enough. The hinge seems like a weak point since it's just a bend in the plastic but i have yet to have one break after a few months of use. . There are certainly nicer deck boxes available but these are an excellent choice for the price, especially for someone just getting started who needs multiple desk boxes.

I wanted to add to my collection and get some new cards i haven't seen before. The origins box is exactly what it is. I was hoping to get excellent rares, but i was unlucky. . For those magic players out there who like to custom build their own decks, i don't recommend getting this. More intended for beginners who are just starting. . Condition: great, sealed, super, and mint. . Playability: depends if you get worthy rares or not. Try drafting these new cards amongst others. . I have one opinion on the matter here. When i opened my box it had one of the decks opened. It doesn't bother me except it made me if someone did open it and "resealed" the darn thing.

Best mtg magic gathering origins deck builders toolkit (wtcb25420000) in review

My 12-year old nephew was beyond thrilled to receive this as a christmas gift. He spent about an hour sorting through all the cards and building a brand new deck. He found several rare and valuable cards, so that made him even more excited. I've never played magic, but this seems like a good starter set, especially for the younger kids. I'm very pleased with this purchase. The look on my nephew's face will not soon be forgotten. Highly recommend!

Bought on a whim to teach the better half how to play and add to the home game shelf. Played mtg all through middle and high school in the 5th edition days. Boy that's been a while. Of course when i was paring down my belongings to go off to college, my boxes of cards were viewed then as extra baggage and given to friends who continued to play. It's part of why i picked this box; it may be slightly aged out of the standard format but included instances of a lot of cards i used to rely on: a shivan dragon, serra angel, sengir vampire. The novelty of that has been very fun. If you're trying to start or get back in, this has everything you need, including an awful lot of basic land (if you're starting out, consider a more current set in standard format). You can definitely make two decks to hack around at the house, and maybe something to take to friday night magic depending on your store's format, but you probably won't be competitive. But that's ok. It's fun and a reasonably good jumping-off point. If you're good on lands, go for another kind of box.

I ordered two of these kits. As a newer player, i really like these deck builder kits. This is a great way to begin a card collection and learn the methods of deck building. It is worth getting two boxes so you end up with duplicates of certain cards. Delivery was fast and package arrived in good condition with everything from product description. It is also fun as a newer player to 'experiment' with various color combinations using these kits.

I decided to pick this up after not paying mtg for over 10 years. I still have my old collection, but bought this set to become familiar with the newer generation cards and rules. My order was delivered very quickly and i am already starting to play around with deck ideas.

Built 2. 5 killer decks with this. 1 of those is unbeatable, but i got lucky on the included boosters. 2mythic rares. If u have no cards, because youre new or getting back into the game, this is the set for. You. I may buy another one (different set) just to have more cards, because for the price its legit

I had gone on a long hiatus from magic (last time i played was 2001) this deck was a good way to get back into it with a modern set. There was enough versatility in the pack to create a few different decks. Definitely worth it. Now i just have to find someone else willing to play with me.

I got two cards worth a dollar more than the list price. I'm not saying that you will, because booster packs are random, but you should buy this box if you are into magic. My first mtg purchase was for the 2015 set, and this one is just as good!

Arrived as advertised. Good random-ish card selection and a decent amount of mana cards arrive. I bought two deck builders for my sons and 95% of the cards were the same with the other 5% being uncommon cards that seem to be randomly selected. . Pretty good deal all things considered.

I'm a new player, but i was impressed with this set. The color distribution is very even throughout and the packs proved useful in building decks. The fold-up guide provided helped a ton, and i was able to make 3 solid decks with the cards provided. I pulled a holographic out of one of the packs, though your mileage may vary. The card box feels sturdy enough to hold out for a few years, and looks like it could hold about 500 cards. The set itself is an amazing value; for the price of 4 boosters, you get 4 boosters, 225 extra cards, and a card box to store them all and more. . I'd recommend this set to anyone looking to start playing magic, as you can make pretty much any deck you wish from what you're given. . The set comes with everything in the pictures except for the sleeves.
