Nerf N-strike Elite Stryfe Blaster Colors May Vary (HS-2596) 1613

Review for nerf n strike stryfe blaster colors

Price was $39.91. My 3 boys are nerf nuts! i often got caught in the crossfire. I feel that the manual guns are a bit too clunky so i bought one of these. Since then we have ordered 3 more. . There is a lot to like about this gun, for me the main thing is ease of use. The gun is very lightweight, even when compared to some smaller manual nerf products the gun seems lighter. My youngest is 4 years old and what is great about this is that i can load up a clip for him and he can handle it because the trigger is easy enough for him to pull and the gun is light enough for him to handle. (some guns such as the nerf demolisher have a trigger that is difficult to depress, not to mention they are much heavier). . There are a lot of folks who write reviews on these toys who complain about jams. Let's be clear this is a toy, meant for kids not a precision made weapon. The darts are made from foam and soft rubber and wear out relatively quickly. In my experience you end up buying more darts not necessarily because they get worn out but because the kids lose them in the yard or the dog eats them. . My 13 yo has modified several of these, with the mod you can open the top hatch while holding the trigger, this simplifies unclogging jams. If your kid is 12+ modifications are surprisingly easy and videos are readily available by searching by the guns model name on youtube. . What i most like about this gun is its ability to handle different sized clips such as the 10 or 18. I would honestly recommend getting this gun and 2, 18 capacity clips over spending let's say $40 on a more expensive gun. The clips and added ammo adds to the guns fun factor. . Here are some tips to prevent some problems. . 1. Teach your child to aim and then fire versus just unloading the full clip. This eliminates 3 problems. First this increases game play time and makes battles more fun. Sure it's cool to blast off 18 darts in a few seconds but then the gameplay has to stop while you reload. Secondly remember the darts are made from foam and rubber and sometimes firing too quickly is what causes the jam. And lastly, this gun works by shoving the dart into the path of two spinning wheels. If you fire too quickly those flywheels lose speed in between shots, all of which in turn means the darts don't fly as far and tend not to fly as "straight" as they normally would. In short aim, shoot wait a second then repeat. . 2. Don't over-jam your clips. Even though we use 18 capacity clips we rarely place 18 of the darts into the clip. The second biggest cause of jams is darts getting crushed and not popping up into the firing mechanism correctly. By not overloading clips you eliminate some of the pressure that distorts and ages the darts. (my kids immediately tried to overload the clips). . 3. Use high quality batteries. While we normally buy the cheap kirkland brand (costco) aa batteries, this does considerably better if you use a high performance battery. Energizer or duracell work the best. In fact nerf recommends duracell batteries. If your kids are older then you may want to invest into the higher quality aa's designed for high demand products such as cameras. They are definitely more expensive but they shoot darts farther and harder. . As a family we have about 12 nerf guns, this model is my overall favorite. Relatively small. Lightweight, you don't have to cock it or anything, just load up a clip, pop it in there and have some fun! . . Lastly, by someone who has been shot in the eye with one of these darts. It hurts! . . Pick up some cheap safety glasses and make sure your kid wears them when they are playing! . . I've got some links for you here and as always if you have a question, post it i usually respond within 24 hours! . . N-strike elite 18-dart quick reload clip (get 2). . Nerf n-strike elite dart refill pack (75 darts). . Nerf zombie strike dart refill pack. . Duracell ultra power aa batteries 16 count. . Duracell procell aa 24 pack pc1500bkd09

Preamble

My family has recently been enjoying waging 'nerf wars' in our recreation room downstairs. This was recently added to the arsenal. I really like that it has a clip, but the one it comes with (holds 6 darts) empties pretty fast and takes longer to fill. We do have other battery operated guns and i like this one best because it doesn't 'spin-up' the fan / motor (or whatever it is that's powering this thing) until you need it (thus saving battery life). Let's face it. You really only need that fan running for short bursts of time so its nice to be able to quickly engage / disengage it. I will say that if you're looking for a stealth nerf gun, this is not it. The fan will quickly tell others that you are preparing for battle. . There are two conveniently located buttons near the trigger. The one forward of the trigger allows you to remove the clip. With longer clips (i was able to swap the 6 dart clip for a 12 dart clip from another gun), they will fall right out when you hit this button. Making it easier to start reloading during a fire fight. Because the button if forward of the trigger, you can't mistakenly hit it (and thereby lose your ammo) during a 'war'. . The other button is located just below the trigger, is what causes the gun's motor to 'spin-up'. It reaches full speed pretty fast and you don't have to wait long to start spraying the enemy with darts (though you'll run out fast with the 6 dart clip. Yes, its worth repeating). . I think i 'prefer' mechanical nerf guns best because many are quicker to reload (can pick up 1 or 2 darts at a time and quickly load them), however, this is one of my favorite battery powered nerf guns. It makes a great combination weapon with a mechanical 6 shooter Best Nerf N-Strike Elite Stryfe Blaster (Colors May Vary) as-of ( Oct 2019 ) | Hasbro-Toys And Games Review Additional Nerf N-Strike Elite Stryfe Blaster (Colors May Vary) Motorized stryfe blaster's acceleration trigger powers up the motor for blasting. Good performance with all clips and darts (minus whistler and mega darts). I personally modified mine by doubling the voltage up to 12v, there are two ways to do this, you can either rewire it internally (required to remove the locks, although locks are not intrusive on this blaster) and put in a dc plug at the base of the pistol grip wired in series with the internal battery compartment, and use a handheld battery bank, or you could "ghetto mod" it by simply attaching battery bank wires to the appropriate terminals at the rear of the compartment (spring is negative, black wire, and plate is positive, red wire) with the internal modification you will have to have some electronics know-how, if you can solder then you can probably do this, however a "ghetto mod" only requires basic "put a wire on this" skills. In both cases, it helps to have a hot melt glue gun, to secure wires or battery banks, or you could not modify it at all, in which case out of the box performance is adequate, and backwards compatibility is excellent.

Click to see NoticeNerf N-strike Elite Stryfe Blaster Colors May Vary (HS-2596)"I used this blaster stock and hated it. I'm sure it's great if all of your magazines are the new elite style ones but mine are not. There is a lock that senses if there is a dart loaded, it is highly sensitive and if it is off by even a millimeter the trigger will be locked up. There is nothing more frustrating than having a freshly loaded mag, coming out from behind cover and not being able to fire. . I am a modder so i naturally ripped this thing apart, took out that blasted lock, thermistor, and circumvented the other locks, dropped in a couple of efest imr batteries and this bad boy screams. Shooting kids all the way across a gymnasium: fantastic. The intimidating scream of the flywheels running at 11. 1v: fantastic. . If you only do one modification to this blaster do this: remove the dart sensing lock. Everything else stock is just fine, even stock ranges aren't bad but not being able to pull the trigger. Terrible."

Official Nerf N-Strike Elite Series 75-Dart Refill

As the nerf rebelle series grows ever more popular with girls in our neighborhood, the need for a steady supply of darts has become obvious. Purchasing the "official" rebelle darts is, of course, an option - but an expensive one at that. That's where the blue/orange n-strike darts come in. They are totally perfect for everyday nerf battles in the backyards that link all of the neighborhood kids, and the price is right even if some are lost over a fence in those epic conflicts. I recommend saving your money and buying these larger sets of n-strike darts for arming your youths with squishy, nerf-tastic ammunition.

N-strike warriors lose when they run out of ammo, and there's no better way to load up on firepower than this refill pack of 75 n-strike elite darts! these darts work with any n-strike elite blaster and most original n-strike blasters (sold separately), so whatever your blaster of choice, ammo up with the refill pack!

So i was a bit nervous about buying this because it is $10 cheaper than in stores and there are so many people that buy nerf darts and find out they are 3rd party cheap hard darts. In fact that happened to me when i bought darts from ekind. However these darts are real nerf darts! but like all darts there are always a few mess ups (i had 1 that was broken in the box, still useable but duck fly pattern). I am very satisfied! the tips are the normal rubber tips and the glue is strong however some of the darts were over glued that is an easy fix. Foam is nice and strong too. Normally i provide a picture but i have them all packed up. Please note: that i bought it normally not the frustration free packaging. Those who seem to have problems with this item have pictures but they are all bought as frustration free packaging. I would buy it normal, there is no price difference, currently, and they are not hard to open in the first place. I now have 75 brand new amazing darts! i will defiantly buy these darts for now on. The cheapest name brand nerf darts anywhere! -Notice from O. Laura, Missouri

So you're having your usual office nerf fight, and suddenly it occurs to you - there's no ammo! the wounded are scrounging in the aisles for loose darts to stuff into their jolts and mavericks. That one guy three cubes down is hoarding while his team gets driven back. Your buddy across the room is being mercilessly pelted because he has no foam projectiles left. The cute girl from hr is looking at you disdainfully, no doubt because of your empty gun. Something has to change. . That's where this bad boy comes in. You yank it out of your filing cabinet, rip it open, and let out a primal roar as the beautiful, crisp elite darts explode into the air. Your adversaries tremble as you rise up, fully loaded, and stare them down with the menacing confidence only a full weapon can provide. . After the carnage is over and you find yourself atop a pile of your vanquished foes with a beautiful woman on one arm and a promotion in the other, you'll realize the value of your purchase. This is the secret to success in the modern tech office. Use your power wisely.

- Z. McCarthyThese were a much better quality than some off brands (below is my review of some others i bought). They were a little pricier for a bit less, so if you are looking for cheap, than buy some others. I will pay a little extra in the future for the nerf darts. . Review of other darts:. . "darts did not glow, and they did not fit all of our nerf guns. We had a nerf war birthday party and out of the hundred, approx 10 out of the 100 lost their tips at some point in the battle. We also had over 100 official nerf darts, and not one lost their tip. . I will say, i'm not sure if it was the firmness of the foam, or maybe the girth, but some of the guns wouldn't fire the bullets at all (they would get stuck). While some, they actually seemed to fire better; further and harder (if that is a good thing for you). . Overall it was not a bad value since we were needing so many darts, but they are definitely not nerf quality when it comes to durability. They served the purpose we needed though, cheap and fun. "

Great value! i saw a review or two stating that these are not real n-strike elite nerf darts because they came in a couple of bags inside a box instead of the packaging you would find at the store. This is untrue. These are the real n-strike elite darts that you receive with the purchase of any new blaster. The box they come in has hasbro printing and upc codes on it. The darts come in 3 professionally sealed bags of 25pcs per bag. The reason the packaging doesnt have colored nerf printing and colored photos of the product or kids playing with the product on the box is because there is no reason to advertise on the box as it is not available for purchase on store shelves. . My son was super excited to pop these suckers in his blasters as soon as i brought the package inside. I have to admit i was excited myself. No more counting darts and trying to track them every single time you fire. Now he has plenty to spare which is great since our dog loves to chase them down and bring them back sometimes crushed or with teeth marks which usually ruins them. . The darts worked perfectly as expected without any defects and i am very happy with the purchase. . I would recommend this product to anyone with a nerf blaster that shoots elite darts.

Official Nerf N-Strike Elite Series 18-Dart Quick Reload Clip

The clip works great for my nerf stryfe elite and is a major boost over the standard 6 dart clip. I haven't had any problems with the clip, loading and unloading it. The orange color is bright and the clear plastic is neat for telling how much ammo you have left, but the clear plastic is only on one side, so you might have to turn the gun inwards to check if you're right handed. . I plan on buying more of these clips because the rate of fire on the stryfe constantly leaves you wanting more ammunition.

First off, i was just expecting the clip only. This is not the case! this is identical to the 18 clip you would by in the store! (it includes 18 darts which is nice). . When i say "good, but not the best. ", this is normal. This totally meets the expectations and does as asked for. It holds 18 darts which is (duh) a grate thing for fast firing blasters such as the stryfe (which i own). . But:. Although it works very well, it *is* a nerf product, so i was expecting a small amount of i'm-not-working days for as long as it lasted. As seen all throughout the comments, the spring to hold up the darts gets stuck every 4-5 times (which is easy to fix, all you need to do is lightly smack the clip on a wall or table). Also, when you are reloading, after about 9-10 darts are put in, the spring fells like it won't let any more in. You just have to power through and it's not a big deal. . Over all, i am giving it 4 stars because even though i love it, it's not perfect. -Notice from D. Nellie, East Riding of Yorkshire

Bought this for my buddy's kids that are 4 and 5 years old, didn't take them long to figure out how to use this, i gave this 4 stars and i think that's pretty generous, the idea itself is pretty good but the problem is with the darts, 4 and 5 years old kids don't take care of them as well as they should and over time they would deform and warp, loading imperfect darts into this magazine would easily cause jam and further damage the darts, just beware of this when letting the kids play, good thing the darts are cheap just buy a few dozen more and problem solved.

- W. MatherlyAfter ordering the styfe it has easily become my ultimate favorite nerf blaster. I modified it following coop772's video on youtube. It went from shooting low 70 fps per shot to around 100 fps (highest recorded of 126 with a modified suction dart). . Would i recommend the mission kit over a normal styfe? the accessories i've found are pointless, the grip is okay at times, the barrel only decreases range, the stock is okay but i prefer a raider stock, the only great part is the magazine and extra darts. If you do not think you need the accessories i recommend just buying a normal stryfe and a 18 round magazine.

This clip is great and it comes with 18 darts. I bought this for my son, but i have to admit that it's pretty awesome and i might be having more fun with it than he is. . Update . I'm taking away one star because the spring mechanism has developed a tendency to "stick" . It's happened about three times. It's usually because a dart somewhere toward the bottom of the clip is at a slight angle and the spring lacks the strength to push it up. If you pull the clip out and give it a gentle "whack" to jostle the stuck dart, it resolves the problem.

The F.A.Q. for Nerf N-strike Elite Stryfe Blaster Colors May Vary (HS-2596)

Great motorized gun at a great price. My elderly mother likes to play along with us but due to arthritis she can only use a motorized gun. Its cute to see a 70 year old grandma, driving a hover-round, shooting a nerf gun. (we give grandma a pass and only shoot her in the legs) this gun is an all around good gun. No jams so far. Additional clips are a must - invest in as many high capacity clips as you can afford! our family prefers the glow in the dark rounds in the charging clip.

It is far more powerfull then i thought it would be(it hurts! ) and as with my firestrike these tests were performed with less then brand new batteries, so i can only assume the difference with more powerfull or higher end batteries, it also has more range then i thought and is far more reliable and accurate then i had hoped. . Again tho, i am failing to understand most of the gripes associated with this weapon. Many say it lacks power, it is the most powerfull flywheel weapn i have encountered, some say it lacks accuracy, no more so then others. . And all these "jamming" problems. What/where is the problem? i noticed no visible difference between the new darts that came with it(elites) and my old darts that are well used and in most cases kinda boned up(still elites) the weapon has yet to jam for something that wasnt my fault, when it is loaded and used properly it works with no problems what-so ever. . Aside from the possibility of more power or to make it take the old clips better, i really see no reason to do any of the reccomended mods, i have had no problems with the dart or clip sensor at all! , and i tried both the 6 shot, 12 shot and 18 shot clip, in addittion to the 18 shot firefly clip, all worked with no problems. . Do people know what their talking about or are only a handfull of us getting working products? , again this is with not new batteries! , so new ones must give far better results. . Pro's-. Small. . Light and can be used with the barrel and stock/butt extentions. Very good fire rate. . Has a laynard/bandolier attachment on handle, so with a barrel attachment you could very easilly shoulder sling it, or just sling it from the stock/butt extension. . Decent accuracy. . Very powerfull for a electric gun. . Cons-. None save for having to watch battery power and replace them every so often, but then thats what high power or rechargable batteries are for

This is a cute little blaster in a new orange color that resembles the elite demolisher's (release color). I have a prochrono digital chronograph with which i measured the velocity of the darts in fps (feet per second) that this "flywheeler" spit out. At the peak of it's rev it produced a consistent average of 65 fps out of the 6 darts in the magazine. This seems like a stable and compact blaster to carry around, and has places to attach a barrel, shoulder stock, and two tactical rails (1 under-barrel and 1 rear top mount for a scope or sight). For the mod community, this is an affordable blaster to mod, just buy two 3. 7v imr off of ebay and a two dummy place-keeper batteries to increase the fps and dps (darts per second). You will also need to get a good battery charger too. A nitecore d4 charger works great for me. Just be sure to take out the irritating locks (mechanical and electrical locks need to be dealt with, especially re-wiring it to bypass the thermistor if you plan on doing voltage mods. The thermal resistor is the yellow piece of electronic circuitry on a tiny circuit board near the battery tray that looks like a yellow m&m). I clocked this set-up with an average dart velocity of 91 fps. For the gift-hunters looking for a fun gun at a low price: it can fit most other nerf gun parts. Oh, and yes it shoots any color of standard elite dart (blue, green, white, orange, purple/grey, accustrike, and decorated rebelle darts). For those gifting this, "no, it doesn't come with the required 4 aa batteries. " in conclusion: best bang for your buck; customization is what the stryfe does better than most, so don't worry about how it looks. Make it look the way you want it to look.

Great for little kids who want to play with their big brothers, but don't have the arm strength to "cock the trigger. " not sure if that is the correct term, but i have spent years pulling the top slider for kids that aren't strong enough to do it themselves, but want to play in the nerf war with dad and brothers/cousins. This blaster has a small orange button below the trigger that powers up a "blower" that helps propel the darts really far! i was going to get my niece and nephew a cheaper nerf gun, but my boys explained why this was far superior. After playing with both styles, i realized they were right, especially for the little guys, and "splurged" for this gun which was about $8 more, but worth every penny. All the kids, big and little, had so much fun playing together after christmas!

I bought 2 stryfe for my kids. In stock form its kinda lame, but after removal of unnecessary locks and bypassing voltage sensor, this thing rocks! (search stryfe mods in google or youtube). The voltage mod is easy to bypass once you open up the stryfe shell and twisting the wires together. Anyway, if you want to make it more powerful, you need life p04 batteries, i tried it with both 3 life p04 batteries and 1 dummy aa, but it works better and less painful with just 2 batteries and 2 dummy aas. (see pics of our home made dummy aa battery made from metal screws and cut down nerf darts) overall we are bery happy with the stryfe. Its a fun nerf gun to shoot esp after a few simple mods.

It makes a great combination weapon with a mechanical 6 shooter

Curiously, while it took about a week to process, the day after it said it shipped it arrived at my door, though online store seems to think it's still being shipped. . As for the blaster itself, i opened it up and was curious to note that the dart lock, the thing that prevents you from pulling hte trigger without a dart in the magazine, was nonexistent. This is actually really nice, as that piece can cause problems with older magazines, and is in my opinion a pain in general. The soldering on the electrical components and the paint job were of higher quality than one i purchased previously. The performance is very good and it has had no issues so far.

This is my sons second one of these that we bought. He has other guns with when friends come over they all want this one. Great buy. He is almost 13 and loves this thing.

Great blaster, very fun and very suited for competitions. It's a flywheel blaster, so it takes batteries and requires less skill to use than springers. You can operate it entirely one-handed, and with a 35-round drum, that means a lot of firepower in a very small, easy-to-use package. . I took my time getting a stryfe, and waited until they were extra-cheap. I should've got one sooner, because this blaster is the business. Reliable, fast-firing, very safe, mod-friendly, and with a huge variety of aftermarket 3d printed parts and electronic mods to turn this blaster into just about any kind of nerf weapons platform you'd want, so long as it used elite darts and flywheels. It's a great blaster - inexpensive, attractive, great stock performance, compact form factor, magazine-fed, and it uses 4xaa batteries, which can be found just about anywhere. . The stryfe is used by many nerfers as the basis for their loadout, and with this much performance in such a small package, it's easy to see why. However, my use of the stryfe is a bit different. I use it as my sidearm/secondary. With such a good secondary, i can run whatever i want for my main blaster. I can experiment and try goofy stuff on the field, and the reliability, speed and range of the stryfe will forgive my mistakes and tag opponents out. Since it's my secondary, i'm not constantly reloading or swapping the magazine. I use cylinder-style blasters for my main gun so i can pick up random darts off the ground and keep topping up my main gun, as opposed to wasting time topping up my sidearm while i should probably be taking cover. When i do run the stryfe as a main, i like a sledgefire as a secondary, because it's very likely to get the opponent in one shot, which is just what you need when you're ambushed while reloading. . I have only one complaint about the blaster, and i think it will be easy to fix. The magazine well is tight - which is to say, the magazine doesn't drop straight out when you hit the mag release button. This is good for some and will help ensure they don't lose their mags, but i am used to the way my other mag-fed blasters work. With those, i can reload one-handed because i never need to use my other hand to remove the magazine as it just falls out. I'm gonna try a bit of sanding and white lithium grease to see if i can impart this action to my stryfe. . I think this blaster looks best with the recon mk. 2 stock, the 10-, 15- or 22-round banana magazines, and the long range scope. Then it gets that "oversized cartoon pistol that really wants to grow up to be a sniper rifle" look. . I recommend the stryfe!

I've tried a lot of blasters (though not all, so stick suggestions in the comments) that are good for young kids. This one is pretty good after i use a zip tie to hold down the middle finger motor spin-up button. The motor disengages when you open the top hatch or take out the magazine so doing so doesn't draw down the batteries too badly. If you know of a perfect blaster for really young kids let me know. So far this is the best one that doesn't require a lot of coordination (pumping)or really strong trigger finger. The flywheel blasters seem to be the simplest to operate and the magazine-fed seems the easiest to pull the trigger compared to the revolver type where your finger pressure turns the cylinder.

Alright, i'm going to get straight to the point. This thing is one of the best nerf guns ever. I own a few nerf guns, and this one outperforms them all, except for maybe the rough-cut 2x4(another great buy). . Now to my thought on the nerf stryfe. - the 6 round "clip" (it's really called a magazine, but nerf calls it a clip to disassociate themselves from fire arms) is inadequate, so get and 18 straight magazine and spray darts everywhere! . - unlike a rayven or ecs 10, it has a little lock that prevents you from firing the blaster with a dart in the magazine, i removed it, and there are a bunch of videos on youtube how to remove that little stinker, so i recommended you remove that, and jams will be reduced and fire rate increased. - as this blaster does have a stock attachment point, i would recommended and modulus recon mk2 stock. - this blaster requires 4 double a batteries to run, and will not run without them. - if you have an old nerf bandolier with dart holders and magazine holders, use that; it's a great way to store ammo. . Thanks for reading, and happy nerfing! . -

My son and i have regular nerf wars. We recently bought the stryfe battery powered blaster. I thought this was a fully automatic nerf gun, but it is in fact semi automatic which turns out to be much better for kids. We have a full auto rifle and it jams all the time, since this only shoots one dart at a time it has not jammed once. The batteries last a long time so do not worry about needing to shell out $ on batteries all the time. It has plenty of power so if you hand this to a kid, get ready to run fast. The only drawback is the capacity of the magazine (clip). It only holds 6 shots which will run out in about 3 seconds before you need to reload. I highly recommend buying a high capacity magazine 15 or more shots to make this more fun to use. Luckily we already had an 17 shot magazine so i don't have to reload every few seconds. Online store sells a 18 round magazine with darts for around $11. Totally worth it.

Awesome nerf gun

This nerf blaster is my favorite of all time, but i wouldn't recommend it for everyone. For a child who wants to wreck there friends in nerf wars this is not the way to go, but for older "kids" who want to bruise each other with modified nerf guns, this is perfect. With a simple solder job and upgraded battery this becomes the best option for any nerf war with your stupid dorm mates.

I love love love the one-handed rate of fire that this provides. This is hands down my favorite nerf blaster. I own around 20 nerf blasters, and i just got my 3rd stryfe. For this price, i'll gladly buy 2 more. My only gripe is the short range and slow dart-speed. This requires that you get closer to your enemy. You also have to give the motor a second to ramp up before firing. And a short second between rounds so the motors can get back up to speed. But being able to fire with one hand is tough to beat. Then you can use your other hand to do other things like wield a secondary weapon, another stryfe, or to hurdle obstacles. There are quite a few mods that can be done to greatly improve this. These mods range from $10 and basic soldering skills to $100 and a total re-haul. The cheapest and easiest mods easily get the dart speed beyond that of other stock nerf blasters. I highly recommend them to anyone. Just go on youtube. It takes 15 minutes. The more intrusive mods create a whole other beast that would scare paintballers. Add the semi-auto that this provides and you've got a winner. Mods increase the noise so enemies will certainly hear you coming. Especially if you have two of them cranking up! mods shorten the spool time of the motors and increase the rate of fire. I paired my stryfes up with 2 of the 18 round magazines. Tape them together, inverted, to get a quick-change mag that totals up to 36 rounds. Great for suppression. I did go full hitman, dual wielding 2 of these bad boys, and it isn't really practical because you become a bigger target and don't last long. But it was the most fun i've had nerfing. I guess i could have hid behind cover. You should have seen my enemies eyes get like saucers when they saw me coming at them. I only took off one star for the reduced range and dart speed out of the box. If you just want to open the box and go nerfing, you'll probably be a little let down by the dart speed. A pump-action blaster gives much better speed and range. (but, it is still pump-action. Not semi-automatic) the stryfe does accept the barrel and stock from a modulus. The rifled barrel does improve accuracy, slightly. After mods, the longer rifled barrel improves accuracy dramatically. I mean it. If you're going to mod this, get a rifled barrel from the modulus line. As dart speed increases, the dart wants to fishtail. The longer and rifled barrel keeps the dart much straighter. I'd go into the physics, but you don't need to know why. If not modding, the barrel doesn't matter because the dart is too slow. If you put a big magazine and long barrel on the front, the blaster becomes front-heavy. I countered that by putting a stock on the back (modulus line), and duct taping a steel tube to the very back of the stock to be a counter-weight. I will also point out that there are no moving parts on the outside of this, like the pump action blasters have. That means, that if you want to paint it, the paint job won't get scratched up by pumping, and the paint won't hinder the movement of any parts. That is huge.
