Price was $66.99. I highly recommend this set. Every piece was well made. Together it provides a nice combination of boards of different sizes and shapes for kids to build things out of their imagination. Our preschooler started to play with magnets recently. We used to have about 50 pieces which apparently were not enough to build buildings. In particular, he likes the squares. This set has a lot of those. The pieces are also sturdy. My son steps on them sometimes and has not broken any pieces. I am ordering more magnets for him to that he can try out anything he likes, hotels, hospitals, school, etc. . Update: i have purchased four sets for our son. He plays with them everyday and builds so many amazing objects.

We love these! they don't fit absolutely perfectly with the regular magnatile brand, but they aren't so far off that you still can't build with them (i think the need for perfection is worse for mommy and daddy than our 3yr old! lol). That said, if i had to do it all over again we would only purchase this brand because it is cheaper and works just as well as the magnatiles, but we wouldn't have gotten both sets. This honestly provides hours of independent play for my toddler, it's one of his favorite things to play with! Our children love this toy. Both of the boys are under 4 yrs old and these allow them to be creative and hands on. The magnets in the tiles help the boys create. The tiles take a beating as inevitably one builds something and the other one comes through like a tornado and knocks it down completely. The tiles come in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes and with 100 tiles they have a pretty good selection for their building projects. We discovered these at a local children's museum and my oldest spent quite a bit of time playing with them even after the other kids in his class had left. These are every bit as good as the more expensive brand and save you some money along the way. We are all very pleased with this product and most likely be purchasing another set in the near future. -H. Alba

My son got a 32 piece set of magnatiles two years ago for his 3rd birthday. He and his (then 5 year old) sister loved them, but i wanted to expand their set. Magnatiles are, in my opinion, prohibitively expensive, so i thought i would give these a try. It's now two years later and they still play with these literally every day. These are completely compatible with their original magnatiles set as well as with a shape mags dome set we later purchased. I've found that these are also every bit as sturdy as magnatiles. We did have a single tile that was not fully sealed when we got the set, but i contacted the seller and they immediately sent me not one but two tiles to replace it. Since then these have been played with daily, knocked down, stepped on, tossed around, and generally gone through rough and tumble kid abuse and have held up amazingly. I highly recommend these to anyone, and i plan on eventually expanding our set even further."

We own both magnatiles brand and picassotiles. The magnatiles and picassotiles are identical in size and shape, and they are nearly identical in color (the picassotiles set does not include any purple tiles). The picassotiles magnets are just as strong as those on the magnatiles. We use both sets together completely seamlessly. . The only notable difference between the two brands of tiles (other than price) is that magnatiles have round metal rivets in the corners that hold the tiles together. I wonder if these rivets will ultimately make the magnatiles more durable than the picassotiles. I have not owned the tiles long enough to comment on this. . But after a six months of daily use by my two young children, the picassotiles are holding up without any problem. No complaints.

Love! love! love! our three year old daughter talked endlessly about the magnets at school and how much she enjoyed them. After watching her build, we ordered this set as part of christmas - and we couldn't be happier! she's played with them every day and it has been wonderful watching her learn and constantly create something new. She'll even bring figures to "play" in her towers and castles. . We're pleased with the quality, but we still keep them away from our 15 month old twins. They seem sturdy for preschool play, but we keep them out of reach from the toddlers. It has not happened, but i could see them cracking after several hard slams from the dynamic duo. We selected this set based on value, variety of shapes, and compatibility with other sets. If you're looking for a set of these tiles and have previously been deterred by price, this set is a great value and your kids will have endless hours of play. We definitely plan on purchasing additional sets as her creations continue to grow and when the younger siblings can start building as well. Well worth it!

My son has the 30 piece magna-tiles set and he loves it so much that i wanted to add to his building set. The 100 piece picasso tile was $40 cheaper than the magna-tiles version, so i bought this one instead. The tiles were interchangeable, however the magnets are not as strong as magna-tiles. I'm a little bit disappointed, because the buildings are more wobbly and dismantles a lot easier than with pure magna-tile structures. However, my 4. 5 year old son, 3 and 6 year old nieces don't mind it and can't tell the difference. They're building amazing things and play with this for hours. Yes, i said, hours! this is why i'm giving it a 4 stars. However, if you don't mind paying a little more and have the extra money, i would suggest buying the magna-tiles.

Trying to find a toy that piques the interest of both a 3 year old and a 7 year old is no easy feat. I bought this as a gift for my grandchildren, hoping they could share it. Boy, what a hit! i now have promised to buy another set to be kept at my house. I bought these because the price was great. However i also bought them to accompany my already existing sets of megatiles. These are capatible for sure in that they connect. These have a nice variety of sizes and shapes. My only issue is that these have bumps and lines and boarders on the larger tiles. This is not an issue if you are just building but my kids like to use the tiles as driveways and streets for their little cars and matchbox cars and you can not ride over these because the surfaces are not like the other flat tiles. If you dont care about the flatness- these are perfect.

These are a major hit in our house! the expense was absolutely worth it, these get played with daily by my 3 and 4 year olds (and my husband and i as well) there are a million things you can do with them. I can't wait to get one of the expansion sets with wheels to make vehicles for one of their birthdays. I cannot recommend this highly enough. . We've played with magna tiles as well and i honestly couldn't tell the difference between the two if the names weren't printed on the side. I figured if they purchased in bulk for themselves to have a high use environment, then it was likely a great alternative to magna-tiles which run a good 30%+ more money depending on when you buy. With the money i saved, i purchased a few extra sets! my boy loves them and two years later, still plays with them all the time. . The transparent colors are perfect. For one, you can see into your creations. Second, if you have a light table, they add something special in the combination. Finally, with additional sets, your child can create a lot more. . This is my daughters favorite toy. She spends hours daily building with her blocks. I have already talked multiple of my friends into buying it. One of the best things about it is that it is great for all ages so my daughter will be able to play with these for a long time. And she and all of her older cousins have a toy they can all play with together. They also wear very well. They have been thrown all over our house and we have yet to have one break or crack. I knew i wanted these even though they were expensive because they had them at a day care i worked at and a school and they were the favorite toy in both places in all of my classes. These things are fantastic! we ran into these in a doctor's office and my 3 year old had a blast playing with them while waiting to be seen (he didn't want to leave). We decided to get some for at home to see how they would work. (my son typically doesn't play with toys for more than the first day, he just loses interest. ) we got one of the 30 count boxes from the other main brand at a local toy store (significantly more expensive). He loved them and played with them all day. We then ordered these (i did a lot of research and found they seemed to be the same thing but just cheaper). No matter what, they are still expensive. However, i would order them again tomorrow if i had to. My kid loves them and it is quite literally the only toy he has not tired of after the first day. . On the toy, they are perfect. They look the same and work perfectly with the other brand. So they are interchangeable. They are rugged, don't break easily (my kid loves to throw them and kick them and whatever else you can think of and not a single one has broken). Also, they haven't damaged our floors, in spite of the same actions, though it is a high-gloss, hard wood floor. . So thank you to the creators and the seller.

We have magnatiles, picassotiles, playmags, and magnetic stick n stack brand and use them all interchangeable. My 2 year old and my 5 year old play with these daily. . The picassotiles are identical in size and shape to magnatiles, though the internal design is slightly different. I haven't noticed any real difference in the strength of the magnets, the pieces are identical, and my kids haven't noticed any difference between them. . The bonus to this set of 100 over the magnatiles set of 100 (other than the price) is that this one came with 8 6x6 tiles, which are awesome when it comes to building and providing support to buildings.

Perfect, less expensive substitute for magna-tiles. There is really no relevant difference between the two in terms of quality - we have both. The picassotiles set does have more of the large square tiles, which can be useful (especially if height is the goal! ). Our kids are 5 and 2 and this is one of the most-played-with toys in our home. Having two sets makes it easier to build huge structures.

A good friend bought a set of magnatiles for her kids, and after seeing their 5 kids aged 2-14, my daughter, plus the parents, playing with them, i decided to get them for my daughter. However, i was not going to pay $120 for the set. In comes these, which are at a much better price point, and from what i can tell they are the exact same thing. My 3 year old loves them, my husband and i will build stuff with her, my parents thought they were really cool. My parents are getting my daughter a second set for her birthday next month so she can build bigger and better things. They seem to be pretty sturdy-they remind me of the material nalgene bottles are made of (and after dropping a nalgene bottle off a cliff and having it still function, albeit a few scratches), so i'm certain they will last. The magnets are quite strong. Overall i'm impressed.
