Preface
I purchased this item roughly a month and a half ago as a birthday present for my son. Along with this set i also purchased some magna tiles. This is my first time purchasing magnets for my son so i wasn't sure which set to go with. First things first as far as quality goes i would say that the picasso tiles are very comparable to the magna tiles. The only differences i saw between the two is that the magna tiles offer different colors, are a little heavier and offer additional security to hold the magnets in place (i will post pictures so you can compare). The magnets appear to be the same strength and they both seem to be handling rough play well. As far as this particular set goes i think this would make a great addition if you already have some magnets at home. 26 pieces aren't enough for a child to play with. I would personally recommend starting with around 100 pieces. This piece comes with 26 pieces, non of which are throw away pieces. You get a combination of squares, two different triangles and one car piece. The car piece, to my surprise, is actually pretty huge. It's roughly the size of an adults hand. This is great because it's easier for your child to handle. Overall i would recommend this set. A good friend bought a set of magnatiles for her kids, and after seeing their 5 kids aged 2-14, my daughter, plus the parents, playing with them, i decided to get them for my daughter. However, i was not going to pay $120 for the set. In comes these, which are at a much better price point, and from what i can tell they are the exact same thing. My 3 year old loves them, my husband and i will build stuff with her, my parents thought they were really cool. My parents are getting my daughter a second set for her birthday next month so she can build bigger and better things. They seem to be pretty sturdy-they remind me of the material nalgene bottles are made of (and after dropping a nalgene bottle off a cliff and having it still function, albeit a few scratches), so i'm certain they will last. They are expensive but children really like them. Need to have 2 sets so they can build what they want. The magnet sides work good. Really like them.
- N. MargueriteMy son has the 30 piece magna-tiles set and he loves it so much that i wanted to add to his building set. The 100 piece picasso tile was $40 cheaper than the magna-tiles version, so i bought this one instead. The tiles were interchangeable, however the magnets are not as strong as magna-tiles. I'm a little bit disappointed, because the buildings are more wobbly and dismantles a lot easier than with pure magna-tile structures. However, my 4. 5 year old son, 3 and 6 year old nieces don't mind it and can't tell the difference. They're building amazing things and play with this for hours. Yes, i said, hours! this is why i'm giving it a 4 stars. However, if you don't mind paying a little more and have the extra money, i would suggest buying the magna-tiles.
We own both magnatiles brand and picassotiles. The magnatiles and picassotiles are identical in size and shape, and they are nearly identical in color (the picassotiles set does not include any purple tiles). The picassotiles magnets are just as strong as those on the magnatiles. We use both sets together completely seamlessly. . The only notable difference between the two brands of tiles (other than price) is that magnatiles have round metal rivets in the corners that hold the tiles together. I wonder if these rivets will ultimately make the magnatiles more durable than the picassotiles. I have not owned the tiles long enough to comment on this. . But after a six months of daily use by my two young children, the picassotiles are holding up without any problem. No complaints.

Both my kids (4 and 2-years-old) love these. The magnets are strong enough that the pieces have no problem holding together. Sturdy - my son has thrown them across the floor and structures have been demollished repeatedly and the pieces have no cracks and magnets have not shaken loose. We have a set of magnatiles and these work great on them. My kids love the option of building on something that moves. They have even connected it to a tow truck. I wanted to purchase the magnatiles branded cars to match what we have but these work just as well and the kids don't know the difference.

These are very well made, and the boys just love them! they get used a lot, and the creations they make using these cars and their tiles is very impressive. I've purchased several sets because each boy likes to work on their own designs. Although sometimes they add them all together and we end up with a long train. . They are made very well - so far none have broken. It's a great price, and it really adds to the set of tiles, to increase play.
These were the perfect addition to our magnatile sets. Now my girls create these awesome things that are mobile or make train cars for their princesses. They are great quality and seem just as durable as the original magnatiles.

My son loves his little stick n stacks. We, recently bought this and he sets them up and makes believe that he is a bus driver and is driving through the city picking up students for school. We have stops in every neighborhood and the little guys even have names and magic powers. He likes to pretend they are all friends and that they can talk. His favorite thing is playing under our dogs because the "big monster" is coming and he needs to save the children. This base makes it easy for him to build tall buildings to make believe they are in the big city. The toys are made of a nice material. It is made from hard plastic that should last a good while . It is the perfect addition to the tiles . It's perfect for using as the strong center pieces when making something like a castle or tall building. It gives extra stability to the main support structure of the design, letting kids build even larger and more ambitious creations. It's one large solid flat piece that has magnets inside of it in the same areas it would if it was lots of smaller squares connected together. Clean up is easy. - A. CourtneyWell i can see where all the bad reviews are coming from but it's still a great idea but shouldn't be so much money for just a 12x12 flat piece with 128 magnets in it. I think you need to change the title so people are not so confused as to what they are purchasing. It was misleading to some but i read it has in contained 128 magnets on a 12x12 board. Not that it came with 128 magnets pieces that connect to it like some. Doesn't mean it needs a bad stars for that. Just simply change the title! it's a great idea so now you don't have to waste 4 pieces to make a floor. However the price will drop after being out for a while right is that not how new products go? the magnets are nice and strong i thought because it was so flat that it wouldn't hold the other pieces but it did great. We have built a tall downtown building and it did just fine. Not once has any pieces fallen off even the round piece kit you can purchase. Hey if it makes the kids happy i'm happy! i only gave it one less star cause the title is misleading please change your title.
The stabilizer board came right on time and my kids love using it. It is a great addition to the magnetic stick and stack and works with the magna tiles as well. Having one board is great- but it wont be enough- the stabilizer board really expands the building options!

These are fantastic. I purchased these a few years ago for my little ones for christmas expect it was the regular box of blocks. These blocks get played with the most out of every other toy i have ever purchased. Including the video games surprisingly enough. Toddler to adult, people love these things and i am not excluded from that. It definitely brings out your creativity and inner architect. My kids have truly impressed me with some of the buildings and contraptions they've built with these. I much prefer these over any other building blocks we've had experience with especially legos.

Of course this review of 5 stars is for both myself (over 21) and "bk" (a 3 year old girl). What is fantastic about picasso tiles is that even a 3 year old can do cool things with them. Building 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional, no restrictions, easy to assemble. I can see interest remaining for older kids as well as they will simply create more complex structures. . Highly recommend this set to start with as it comes with two four-wheeled "cars" which can be built on.

Ordered these for my soon to be 3 year old grandson. My older grandson has some of these that we share when the younger grandson comes over. Bbut this set is much bigger. Bday not till feb. But i know he willl have many years of enjoyment, and he ha a younger brother that can play and create as well
