Pokémon Sun – Nintendo 3ds (CTRTBD) 32

Review for pokemon sun nintendo 3ds

Price was $29.99. This review assumes you know what a pokemon game is generally about - this one doesn't change the format too much. . On a technical level this game is a step up in terms of graphics and battle animations - wifi features and online battle system is much improved from last generation as well. . The story is not very deep but adds a few twists to the typical pokemon formula, wouldn't want to give too much away but for example there are no longer gym leaders in this game. . Also, many new pokemon their are some changes made to existing pokemon called alola forms which adds new twists and a competitive edge to certain pokemon. Overall the new pokemon designs are well thought out and welcome additions with a few notable exceptions. . For competitive pokemon players there is now an option to bypass the breeding process to obtain perfect ivs - you still have to work to get the right natures and abilitiies however. . If you enjoy the competitive scene then definitely upgrade to the newest generation of pokemon, if you are a casual player who wants basically the same game with improved graphics and a different setting then you will like this game.

Pokémon Sun - Nintendo 3DS Review (CTRTBD)

The best pokemon game released to date. For those who haven't played since the days of red/green/blue/yellow, this is the time to give it another shot. *. Pros:. The ability to randomly trade a pokemon in wonder trade. The ability to trade online with friends. The ability to leave a request to trade one pokemon for another with specific details in gts. The pokepelago islands allowing you to level pokemon and gain items as time passes in real life without playing. *. Cons:. Completion of the pokedex is possible but unnecessarily difficult due primarily to various pokemon only obtainable via fishing (and the fishing mechanic in this game is honestly broken). The appearance rates of many water pokemon are in the realm of 3% and there is only 1 fishing rod in this game. . It was relatively easy to complete the entire pokedex, but sadly there is little reward for doing so. . The battle tree is more difficult than prior games, but for the wrong reasons. From the start the battletree can put you up against a trainer who will absolutely sweep the floor with you. The difficulty ramping is insurmountable and success in a series of battles always feels more like rng luck than skill. . The global event quotas are ridiculously high and prevent the community from being able to attain the highest rewards (which tend to be too low to begin with), which results in the community shying away from the events. -G. Pokémon Sun Nintendo 3dsPokémon Sun - Nintendo 3DS (Switch to Mobile/Desktop Version)

Pros:. Hm moves abandoned for dedicated pokemon that are not in your party for utilities like fly. This is implemented well, what they should have done from the start. Tms can be reused over and over, not new to this game but much appreciated continuation. Totem pokemon and island challenges are an interesting alternative to gyms. I liked it, but they could have had both in my opinion. Game looks great and plays great. Pokemon ally system is great for chaining for advanced pokemon for competitive play. The bean islands are a great addition, i can make mountains of berries quickly. . Cons:. Team skull is lame. Most trainers have 1 pokemon, i would prefer less trainers with more pokemon. Too easy. No mega evolution. Abandoned some nice features like the dexnav

The F.A.Q. for Pokémon Sun - Nintendo 3ds (CTRTBD)

As a lifelong fan of pokemon, i thought this game was purely amazing. The x&y versions were my first play through of a new pokemon handheld game since the generation 2 crystal version release (not counting leaf green & soul silver) but sun has probably been my favorite pokemon purchase to date. The region itself is beautiful, the new pokemon are unique (minus a few select pokemon imo) and the gameplay is entertaining. J highly recommend this game for any 3ds player or pokemon lover of any age.

I've been playing pokemon for 20 years now, and every game that has come out has been beautifully amazing. The only gripe i have with these gen 7 games is the fact that not all megastones are available and the ones that are unavailable will be obtained via events or online competitions. This does annoy me greatly. Equally as annoying is if you have an older 3ds this game loads up much slower than it would on a new 3ds. Sometimes it takes a while to even shut the game off. So if you want to play this i do recommend getting a new 3ds to play it on, it'll be a lot less slow running. . Though beyond that the battles are harder, the graphics are gorgeous, the cut scenes are amazing, and i'm just blown away by this game. Though if you're looking to relive your nostalgia for the good old days (red and blue) this game is probably not for you mostly because gyms have been eliminated and in it's place is trials. If you're looking to relive the old days i suggest buying the virtual console in the eshop rather than buy this game. This also applies to players coming to this game via pokemon go, do remember if this is your first pokemon game do not expect it to operate in the same way that go does. Though i do hope you give this game a try, the core series is definitely the better of the pokemon games in my humble opinion. . I cannot wait to see what they have in store for us next. 3

An amazing game, and possibly the best pokemon game yet. . Pros:. Amazing visuals. Alola is a great region. Plot. Characters. Poke ride feature. Team skull. Ost. . Cons:. Battle royal is broken. People i talk to falsely claiming gen 5 is superior. . Other thoughts:. Pokemon games have their story lines get slowly more linear, which is apparent from gen 1 - gen 7, which while not really a con, it is disappointing. Though i personally would rather a good linear story, than one that sucks, but lets me do more.

B. Cecilia, Mississippi says

Loved this game! i have been playing pokemon since leaf green and this is one of the most exciting games in a long time. It's definitely something new and fresh, which i think is exactly what the franchise needed!

L. Rowe, Kentucky

What s hot. + game is done in a full 3d polygonal world. + interesting story. + graphics. + some unexpected plot twists. + alola pokemon shake up the type match ups. . What s not. - slow load times. - dropped frame-rates in some battles. - slow pacing. - miss traveling to gyms. - hordes were removed . - lack of a true rival. . What is it? . Pokemon sun and pokemon moon are the newest entries into the pokemon franchise. The game takes a new spin on the franchise where you don t have to travel from gym to gym rather you travel from islands battling totems and kahunas. . Story: 4. 5. This game is basically pokemon goes hawaii. The game starts out with you moving to the alola region with your mom. The young shirtless, intrusive professor kukui eventually introduces himself and then you go through your normal tutorial as in all other pokemon games. Pokemon sun / moon is full of interesting characters, vast region to explore, as well as cool new pokemon. What it lacks in is pokemon gyms, and a true rival. . Graphics: 4. 5. This is one of the better looking nintendo 3ds games, and probably the best looking pokemon game to date. The only real downfall is the dropped frames when battles turn intense. . Audio: 4. 0. This is your typical pokemon stuff here. You get your usual town battle and route themes w/ your familiar pokemon center theme. Still, no voice acting and only pokemon that says their name is pikachu (i feel we have graduated from this game freak / nintendo. It is about time we upgrade all the pokemon cries. ) . . Replay: 4. 5. Pokemon games typically always have a high replay value due to there is always so much more to do after your finish the main adventure. Pokemon sun / moon is no different here. One you finish the game you still can complete the pokedex, take part in the battle royal, as battle and trade with friends and strangers alike. . Around the web: 4. 7. This game is currently holding a 4. 7 on online store. Com. . Thoughts. Pokemon sun / pokemon moon may not be the best pokemon games (at least in my opinion) but they are great in their own right. I found the game to be easy. The difficulty comes when you are trying to fill up the pokedex and you are waiting for that 1 pokemon to show up and they never do; yeah i m talking to you dratini (insert angry emoji). Cut-scenes, while scarce run long and there is no way to speed them up or skip. Pokemon sun and pokemon moon places hau as your rival which is a bit disappointing being that he is anything but a rival. He chooses the pokemon weakest to you at the start of the game, he is way to cheerful and upbeat. Plus he constantly gives you helpful items and heal your pokemon. He is more of a best friend. I find it hard not to recommend to anyone with a nintendo 3ds. If you are shopping for a nintendo and / or pokemon fan, you can t go wrong here. . Score. 22. 2 / 25. 89

O. Eleanor, Hamburg says

Pokemon sun was one of the best games that i have ever played on the 3ds. This comes in as one of the best pokemon games that i have played, with the exception of soul silver, on the basis of the extended story line. The storyline was amazing, but i was sad to see the game end so quickly. Playing after the game was over was not the real intention of the game, though, so i can't complain to gamefreak there. What made soul silver great, was that after you cleaned out and completed every part of johto, you had an entire region to explore. Back to the product, though. Pokemon sun had a beautiful storyline, and if you played the demo, you got a greninja, which was a great companion if you chose litten or rowlet for your starter. I chose litten, and i have almost always chosen fire, i chose cyndaquil, chimchar, and charmander for some of the other games that i have played. The part that gets me down about this game is the end, but that really happens in any pokemon game. After you battle red in soul silver, you feel so sad that the game is over. What i really wish the makers of sun had did, was to let you journey to kanto with lillie and go with her as a companion, as in she was attached to you, and you did a lot of double battles in that point. I think that that would have made the game so much better, but i think that this game would become a $50 game, not a $35 game (if you bought it on prime). This game was well made in all honesty, but i wish there was more after getting solgaleo (the legendary). That's my little rant, thank you for listening!

This game is just fantastic! it's very cute and the new pokemon. Omg the meowth is very. Well he's as gay as me that's for sure. Anyway i really appreciate the alola forms of these pokemon they make me laugh! litten was my starter and although i usually go for water types as starters litten has a big ol' muscle final evolution and he's very big and strong. I love this game i couldn't ask for anything else

This is hands-down one of the best pokemon game i've played, and the story is arguably one of the better ones of the series. There are a few caveats which keeps it from being 100 but it's definitely worth the time of day to experience. Please note that at the time of this review, the access to the rest of the pokemon not available to the alola region hasn't been patched in yet. . Pros:. + better narrative. +one of the better designed worlds in the series. + the characters in the game are a lot of fun. + you can run from the start! also, pokemon you ride makes covering distances a lot easier, even in the water later on into the game. + it's pokemon's return to challenging gameplay. You'll have a really bad time doing a nuzlocke in this game. + the music will give black & white, and diamond and pearl a run for their money. Arguably the highlight of this series. + the battle interface has been streamlined a bit for ease of use. + there are more battle boxes, so you don't necessarily have to constantly edit your team when the usual 2 is used up. + the pc box has been streamlined. Moving items and organizing your pokemon within the box is easier. + team skull are one of the most endearing villains in the series. + breeding pokemon are a lot easier, and there are visual cues as to when an egg is ready. + the z moves are a welcome addition to the series. . Cons:. - catching rare pokemon in the water is a horrible experience. - the game has one of the longest openings in a pokemon game. Cutscenes will be very jarring for the first few moments into the game until you eventually get used to it. - nebby, get in the bag! . - festival plaza, this game's online hub, makes it an even more tedious journey to just battle someone online. It takes a lot more button presses/ clicks than usual. It's a step down from the x&y's more convenient interface. - the zygarde core quest is infuriating. It's definitely a worse version of the megastone quest from x&y. - acquiring megastones in this game requires you to go through the one of most tedious post-game challenges. To make matters worse, they're also the most expensive.

I love pokemon. I love every kind of pokemon. And i wanna hug em all, but i can't - oh wait i can? ! i hug every pokemon. I hug every pokemon. . In all seriousness, i really love this game so far. My husband got pokemon moon and i have sun. We like playing them together and seeing the difference in the games. We have been pokemon fans since red & blue.

When i first bought this, i really didn't pay attention to any of the trailers because the pokémon series usually followed the same layout throughout the games - brief introduction to game mechanics, you venture from home, battle the 8 gym leaders, fight some gang with a serious background, and beat the e4. The first 30 minutes of the game held my hand so tight. That was absolutely new for me. The kahunas were like gym leaders, except they usually gave you permissions to use cool z-moves. Sweet! and then there was team skull, which confused me for most of the game. They're so silly and easy to take out! and post game. There's so much more to do! . . Spoilers below. Read at your own risk. . First, as the champion, you may defend your title as champion. Ever since i was a kid, me and my friends held badges in our school and acted as the school's gym leaders (with teams filled with pokémon who were lvld using gamesharks). When i saw there was an option to defend my title again, i was so giddy with joy! . . The second thing to do when the game is over is fighting the battle tree. 20 or so years have passed since pokémon red/blue. I remember playing on the game boy color, buying batteries until i switched to the sp. All of the greyscaled coloring. It all came back to me when i tried to do the battle tree. After entering the area, i was approached by red and green. An actual shiver went down my spine. A couple years back, we had a chance to fight red at the end of the game. And now you have a choice between fighting him or green. Both are grown up! i was surprised to see both of them here! what surprised me more is that. Other champions are here apparently. I spent countless hours climbing the tree and. Well, i'll leave the rest to you. . In short. Buy this or moon, it doesn't matter. The game is terrific and is definitely worth the $40 (unless you paid $32 while pre ordering. Then it's 120% worth the money).

I am a a pokemon nerd. Played every game. So i knew i would grab this one when it came out. I love it. The new pokemon are so cute and the new forms for old pokemon are pretty cool! its really neat to see them looking so different. Also there are all sorts of new things to do in this. You can even take pictures of pokemon! if you are an old fan or a new fan this is a fun game to play.

I just caught the solgaleo with one dive ball. Then i fought lusamine for the second time and lost. I was then teleported back to the pokemon center and now cannot get back. I went both at night and day to both the island and the alter of sunne but the portal was not there. I really do not want to start the game all over again. What do i do

I'm only giving this game 4 stars because of one downside to the gameplay that really annoys me; the wild pokemon being able to "call for help" from other wild pokemon. It is the single more annoying thing in this game! every time i wanted to catch the pokemon if i didn't have it, the damn thing would call for help and then i'd have to get rid of the second one before trying to catch the first one. But right after i do get rid of the second one, the first one would call for help again. One pokemon did it up to 5 times in a row! . . Another sort of downfall; and this one i've seen a lot of in reviews is that there is far too much story to gameplay. It's like watching a pixleized mini movie with some gameplay sprinkled in. Not even x/y, omega ruby was like that. There was a leveled amount of gameplay to story in them. But sun? mostly reading dialogue and going here or there to get into more story. If you like having a lot of story, buy the game; if not, then don't buy the game. It's really that simple. I may still get moon at some point but i actually stopped playing when i got to the final "kahuna" the chick with the clydesdale like pokemon because my pokemon are freaking weak against her.
