This is a great basketball goal. I have purchased other back of the door hopes and this is by far the best and only one my children have actually enjoyed and played with repeatedly. . My 6 year old and 4 year old both love to shoot on it and now are showing an interest in basketball. I think the larger size is the way to go. Basketball is only fun if you actually make shots and since it is bigger they make more shots. This goal is slightly smaller than the size of a normal closet door. . Since the rim is metal, you will need to place it on a door that has room to fully open. If your door is in the corner of a room you may not be able to open the door much without slamming the rim into the wall. If you don't have room expect your children to put a rim sized hole in the wall. . Also, i would highly recommend purchasing a nerf style foam ball. The ball that comes with this is inflatable rubber. It feels heavy and in the hands of children is sure to break tons of stuff as it bounces around.

I bought this as a christmas gift for my husband. He had specifically asked for it; we don't have kids yet, so i knew he wanted it for himself to play with, and i totally gave in. Surprisingly, i love it too! he played with it for almost 20 minutes before i gave in and started playing also; he was having so much fun, i had to join. The hoop has two wide hooks to hang over a door, but they're thin enough to close the door without creating any scuffs against the door frame. It's easy to put on the door and remove without creating any damage. In terms of height, i'm 5'8, so once it was hanging on the door, the rim was right above my head with the net coming down to eye-level. If you have people/kids who aren't at a height which allows them to dunk the basketball, then you won't deal with much noise. If you have a childish, spirited husband like mine who wants to dunk the ball constantly or chuck the ball with all his might, then the backboard will bounce and reverberate against the door very loudly. The backboard has a black cover along the bottom of the board (which you see in the product photos), and that prevents any damage to the door caused by overzealous shooters. The ball is a perfect size; with a lot of these types of products, the ball is always really small, but this one is large enough where you have to use your whole hand to hold it (and my german shepherd couldn't get his mouth around it to run off with. ) it doesn't have much bounce to it, so you won't have to chase after it much after each shot. I mounted mine to the wall above a doorway. Word to the wise, the screws that hold the door mount are hard to get out because they strip. But! if you get one screw out of the mount, you can twist the mount hook to loosen the screw but you will have to scratch back the black foam to make room. The foam fell back in place once i was done. Once the mounts were off, i used the same holes for the wall mount. Use anchors! i used the white anchors from lowes. I drilled with a 3/16 bit once the goal was level (use the goal as the guideline to make your 4 holes), then removed the goal and popped in the anchors. You then place the goal back up and secure in the screws. No need to buy brackets! about 10 minutes total and it looks great! if you mount it on a door, it's very loud!

- D. RuffMy 6yr old son loves this. It's a good quality hoop, and the padding on the backpanel protects my door from getting dinged. After a couple months of use, the door isn't harmed. We don't really use the "glow in the dark" feature. It's cool that it's just clear and green. We've never noticed it glowing, and to be honest, i've not even mentioned it to him, lest he try to keep getting up there with a flashlight to charge it. Just having the lights on in the house doesn't give it enough "power" to just glow.

After completing an ill-advised dunk attempt, my sklz pro mini basketball hoop of two years broke. I tried to convince myself that i didn't need a new one. But as any other person who has owned this hoop would tell you, its impossible not to use it at least once a day. My package came in and everything was in great shape. Pro performance sports (the manufacturer) made a noticeable improvement on the angle of the hoop (my old one tilted down). My only problem with the hoop i received is with a small defect on the actual rim (shown in the image below). Otherwise, i would recommend this product to all basketball fans!
