Look, here's the deal. Puzzles start and end with ravensburger. What other crafter of premium puzzles can lay claim to softclick technology(tm) and decades of experience in the puzzle game? according to ravensburger, no one. . In all seriousness, this puzzle was a joy. Each piece was uniquely cut and the softclick technology(tm) really does give confidence to each piece being a precision fit. In other words, you know its right when you place it. Unlike other puzzles that come with a limited set of pattern cuts or pieces halfway together in the bag, this ravensburger lacked any warts. The design itself was lovely, with plenty of intricate details, and it was a lot of fun to put together with friends. . 5/5, would softclick(tm) again. -O. Alberta

Ravensburger puzzles are our favorite to build mainly because of the quality of the pieces. They interlock perfectly. They are very thick and have a durable texture to them. I prefer ravensburger due to high puzzle quality. . The puzzle itself was about a 5/10 on the difficulty scale. It wasn't super hard, but provided a lot of fun during the build. There aren't a lot of redundant spots (like huge black areas). It assembles pretty quickly, and makes a great puzzle to build. . Overall a great puzzle, and well worth the build time.

Personally, i believe ravensburger puzzles are of better quality than any other manufacturer with which i'm familiar. The matte-finish, linen paper works well in a variety of lighting due to its low reflectivity. It also holds the ink so well that the picture stays rich & vibrant for years. The puzzle pieces, themselves, always fit perfectly. They sure are sturdy little buggers! i have yet to come across even one that has become frayed or creased in any way, no matter how often the puzzle has been completed, & quite a few have been around for many a year. Ravensburger makes excellent puzzles. The images are beautiful and clear. The puzzle pieces actually lock together. I like these so well that i have bought several of them.

" as always, ravensburger puzzles are extremely high quality, yet sadly not very available in retail locations anymore. Guess it's a pastime that is becoming "dated, ". Not! great relaxation, brain stimulator, and artistic all at the same time.

Like all of the ravensburger puzzles, this one is awesome. The pieces are thicker than you'll find on cheaper jigsaw puzzles, and the small pieces make for a very challenging, yet fun time completing it.

Oh my gosh. This was my first ravensburger puzzle, and i ended up immediately buying four more because i loved it so much! . . There is just so much to love about this puzzle! first of all, the feel of the individual pieces is so much higher quality than most puzzles - it's not just a mental exercise putting this together; it's a sensory experience. The thickness, the smoothness, and the obvious quality mean that the puzzle will last through far more rounds of assembling and disassembling. The fit of the pieces is tight enough to make it easy to move large chunks from one place to another, which is really nice (for instance, i sometimes like to sit back in a recliner and work on just one portion on its own, then later add it to the rest of the puzzle). Also, every piece is different from the others, so you don't get tricked into putting a piece in the wrong spot. . The images themselves are so much fun. There are tons of tiny details, which is what i love most in a good puzzle. I ended up frequently spending time just exploring the picture itself because there was so much to notice. The book titles are funny and there are all sorts of amusing little critters all over the place to find. When i finished it, i had to give myself a good half hour for admiration of the puzzle before i could put it away! and the colors are wonderfully vidid. . Hands down, this was my favorite puzzle in a long time. (and believe me, i have done a lot of puzzles - i'm an addict! )

Exceptional quality (1) absolutely no questions about if a piece fits or not (2) pieces are exceptional quality - nice solid edges, not even a hint of 'splintering' or peeling. Have a pleasant 'solid' feel in your hand, almost as if they're made of some sort of laminate (3) colors are bright and vivid, images incredibly crisp (4) pieces are a nice uniform size. Things that are a matter of opinion/personal preference: (1) picture is a lot of fun, tons and tons of detail. If you like to work more from the picture, this is the puzzle for you. Absolutely no areas where you have dozens of pieces that look incredibly similar and you just have to work the shapes/shades. (2) the solitary thing is ding it for, and reason i gave 4 vs 5 starts is that the pieces come together in a pretty standard grid pattern. I have put together a great many puzzles over the years (5, 000 pieces was the largest). Most of them, and all of my more recent puzzles, have been from ravensburger, their quality is unmatched. I have never cared for landscape puzzles or puzzles where half the area seems to be all sky, ocean, forest, etc. I prefer a puzzle with alot of small details. This puzzle has literally well over 1, 000 small details scattered all thru out it. If you look long enough and close enough, you can find the location of most of the pieces from the picture on the box, but don't be deceived! this is still a fairly tough puzzle at 1, 000 pieces. I can honestly say, this is the most enjoyable puzzle i have ever built! and one of the very few puzzles i look forward to putting together again in the future. Highly recommended!

This puzzle is the follow up puzzle, it is also great but it is not as great as the first and here is why, . . Bb1 is 500 pieces, which is my perfect puzzle size. I have an inquisitive pup who sometimes steals my pieces so its best if a puzzle is smaller because less chance of piece loss. I also use a large piece of cardboard to build my puzzles on and the perfect size for me to not have to unfold more sections of the cardboard is 500 pieces, 1000 piece puzzles mean i have to work around a rut in the cardboard. . Bb1 concentrates more on the colors of each bookshop section, which i love. . That said, this is a lovely follow up and if you enjoyed bb1 i would definitely suggest bb2. . I love ravensburger puzzles though, if you are looking for a quality puzzle that is unique and well made, get a ravensburger.

I love ravensburger puzzles because they are usually a higher quality than many. This is a great puzzle with a ton of detail. I love being able to pick up a piece and find the exact location that it belongs. . I do have to say that this puzzle came with 6 duplicate pieces and 2 missing pieces. I thought this was a pretty unusual and difficult thing to have happen but it has. I've emailed ravensburger to see what they will do. Obviously i can throw the duplicates away but i can't create the missing pieces. If they don't make it right, i'll be back to lower my review. . Update: it took a little bit of time (obviously they were swamped after the holidays) but ravensburger got back to me and asked me to send the upc code from the box to them and they would replace the puzzle. Fair enough and a good solution.

Ravensburger Paris Balcony Jigsaw Puzzle 1000-Piece

A family tradition is puzzle building over the christmas holiday. This year my daughter will be in spain over christmas so we decided to hold "christmas in july" to include puzzling. My daughter is hoping to spend her christmas in paris so this puzzle had a specific meaning. We have purchased many ravensburger puzzles and have been quite pleased not only with the designs but also the quality of the pieces. The only "improvement" (more of an addition) that i can think of is for ravensburger to include a color insert of the puzzle. Having a second image of the puzzle would be a great help as three of us puzzle builders currently need to "share" the top of the puzzle box to aid our building. Regardless we will continue to purchase and build ravensburger puzzles as they are high quality and fun.

This was my first ravensburger and bought it to put it together with my so to keep warm indoors. She raved about how the ravensburger pieces were top of the line quality and they feel awesome when they click into the right spots, she was right, the pieces were awesome. We however did not like how the picture on online store portraited the puzzle to be lighter, when in reality, its quite dark and difficult to differentiate between the oranges and the dark pieces. Puzzle was challenging from the perspective of distinguishing the fit of the piece from color. I enjoyed putting the sky in the most as there are patterns and was much easier to see. I will try another puzzle with my so is determined to shoe me that not all the puzzles are of this color quality.

When the box arrived, i was disappointed to see that the picture is full of garish oranges, since it's a sunset picture. The puzzle itself is full of bright orange pieces. So i am disappointed that it doesn't look like the picture i thought i was getting. However, i really do like the puzzle. I just completed a puzzle made by another company, which took me over a year, because the pieces were all so similar in shape that i couldn't figure out where anything went and i frequently put pieces in the wrong place. This puzzle, while still challenging, has an interesting variety of shapes and colors, and i'm having fun working on it.

I began doing puzzles with my friends father who is in assisted living now. When doing one with him they need to be 300-500 and large peices. Going through all these puzzles with him i learned quickly there are only two brands worthy of my money. The top one is ravensburger. This puzzle was no different: other than it was for only me to put together alone to keep my hands busy when i wanted to smoke. This puzzle was mentally challenging and fun. And puzzles worked to keep me off cigarettes!
