Ticket To Ride India: Map Collection – Volume 2 (Days Of Wonder) 1118

Review for ticket ride india map collection

Price was $29.99. If you enjoy tight, cutthroat maps, where claiming routes early can be a major advantage, this expansion is a must! . . The india map is wonderfully creative, with so many different strategies capable of winning. You can go ticket-fishing, you can rack up tons of points with a mandala bonus, or you can concentrate on claiming the limited long routes and ending the game quickly. No single strategy is a sure bet! in my opinion, this map has the best blend of offense and defense, and also the most striking artwork and colors in the ttr series. . I've been playing switzerland for a few years now. Prior to india, it was my favorite. The tight map and fewer trains usually make it a fast-paced ticket-drawing contest. If i have a criticism, it's that there are fewer winning formulas. Taking a central path west to east and getting into all four countries is almost always your best bet, no matter what tickets you draw initially. For switzerland to be really fun, you need to play defensively. . In short, if you like ticket to ride but wish it had more player interaction and tension, india and switzerland will be welcome additions to your game nights.

Preface

This is the first expansion that we got for the base game (usa version) and i really love it. My wife and i are big ticket to ride fans and adding this map collection gives us a little more variety to keep us on our toes. . India is a pretty tight map, especially when you consider the mandela bonus you get for completed routes. Basically if you complete one of your routes with two distinct paths of trains then that route gets a mandela bonus. Get this on 5 of your routes and you'll score big! i usually try and incorporate a few of my routes into some sort of circle from the game start, then pick up more routes as i go and hope to get something that doesn't require much modification to that circle. . Switzerland is very cool too, our first map to try with tunnels. Frustrating a times but funny to make fun of an opponent when they fail a tunnel 3 times in a row. On this map there are country routes, and if you can get a lot of these in your hand you are going to score well, it's not hard to score points this way. We usually run out of route cards near the end as discarded ones are eliminated from the game. . I think i prefer india, a bit more strategy to score big. My wife prefer's switzerland because maybe i get a little too good at getting the mandela bonuses :) The Best Ticket To Ride India: Map Collection - Volume 2 as-of ( Apr 2021 ) | Flat River Group-Toys And Games Review Featured Ticket To Ride India: Map Collection - Volume 2 High quality. Proprietary design. Exceptional performance. This is an expansion to ticket to ride, not a standalone game. This expansion requires the trains and train cards from an original copy of ticket to ride or ticket to ride europe to play .

Ticket To Ride India: Map Collection - Volume 2 Review (DOW720114)

I got this map pack of ticket to ride just for the switzerland map. My wife and i tend to play two person games a lot and the switzerland map is arguably the best map for it. It's tight and confined and keeps gameplay exciting. The chances of getting a path blocked is very high. It's one of my favorite tabletop games to play. -G. Arnett

Ticket Ride India Map CollectionTicket To Ride India: Map Collection - Volume 2 (Switch to Mobile/Desktop Version)

This is an expansion to the usa ticket to ride or the europe ticket to ride full game sets. It comes with a double-sided board with india on one side and switzerland on the other. . India's version comes with a new twist of having "mandalas" instead of longest train or the most destinations. Instead you attempt to put your destinations into mandalas or circles. We love the new twist! . . The switzerland version has the same idea used in the europe and asia boards where you have tunnels that require 3 additional cards to be flipped and more cards potentially laid down to secure your train's route. The new twist in this board is that wild cards can only be played on tunnels and count as single cards when you are picking them up. There are also different types of destination cards where you have to connect 2 countries (includes routes to germany, france, italy & austria) or a certain switzerland city to a country. I love the variation! . . Our family owns the following ticket to ride games: usa complete set, europe complete set, asia, india with switzerland, and usa 1910 expansion. I think this board is our favorite! asia comes in a close second as it also has a double-sided board with a group play variation.

Click to see NoticeTicket To Ride India: Map Collection - Volume 2 (Days Of Wonder)"The item shipped quickly & arrived on time. I have the ticket to ride us edition; this was my first expansion pack purchase and i love it. India: this map is particularly challenging because a lot of the single train length connections can have a big impact on routes between major cities. All of the players scramble to claim key connections and everyone gets excited/nervous when the others are taking their turn hoping that a route that they need does not get claimed. It really gets intense for more than two players. There are videos on youtube that talk about the gameplay in detail if you're interested. P. S. A lot of the city names/spellings are incorrect. . Switzerland: i do not have the original europe map (i believe that they have "stations" that come in handy while crossing a tunnel that's already occupied by another player. Watch video on youtube), but, i was still able to play that map and had a lot of fun in the process."

Introducing the 3rd volume in the ticket to ride map collection vol. 3 - the heart of africa. Set in the vast wilderness of africa at the height of its exploration by intrepid explorers, missionaries and adventurers, this new single-sided board map focuses on the central and southern heart of the continent displayed in a vertical format. This new map introduces 45 new terrain cards, divided into 3 different terrain types. Each terrain type is associated with different route colors: desert/savanna cards for yellow, orange and red routes; jungle/forest cards for green, blue and purple routes; and mountain/cliff cards for black, white and grey routes. Players can draw terrain cards just like train cards and they may use these to double the value of the routes they claim. Designed for 2-5 players, ages 8+, this expansion takes 30-60 minutes and requires train cards and trains from either ticket to ride or ticket to ride europe.

The ticket to ride europa 1912 expansion for the ticket to ride series includes 101 destination tickets, the 46 original tickets, plus 55 new ones that enable 3 new variants to the ticket to ride europe map: europe expanded, which adds 19 new routes to the original 46; big cities of europe, with tickets to 9 major european cities; and mega europe, which uses all the new routes as well as the 46 original destination tickets. This expansion also introduces warehouses and depots, new game rules and pieces that create an additional strategic layer and can be played with any of the ticket to ride maps. Wooden train depots are placed on cities selected by each player. Depot placement and skillful warehouse tactics become a key part of a winning ticket to ride strategy. An original copy of any complete game in the ticket to ride series is required to play with warehouses and depots. New destination tickets are for use only with ticket to ride europe. Ticket to Ride Map Collection Volume 5 : United Kingdom Board Game

Ticket to ride:  united kingdom will include a double-sided game board.   one side will show a map of the united kingdom, including great britain and ireland, set in the 19th century, at the dawn of the railroad revolution.   to play on this map, a completely new set of train cards are also included.   a unique feature of this scenario is the introduction of technology cards that allow players to improve the quality and sophistication of their trains during the game, allowing faster runs and longer routes.   players must use locomotive cards to purchase the technology cards, forcing them to decide between technological development or expanding their route network on the map.   this scenario supports 2 to 4 players. The other side of the game board shows a map of pennsylvania.   playing this scenario uses a deck of stock shares, representing actual historical railroads that operated in the region shown on the map.   when a player completes a route on the map, they have the opportunity to "invest" in a company through the use of the stock shares, with control of each company awarding bonus points at the end of the game.   this scenario supports 2 to 5 players.

Ticket To Ride - Europe

This is a really great board game that appeals both to lifelong gamers as well as to new initiates into playing board games. This makes for a nice party game if you have a couple of friends over but can also be played with two people and is fun regardless of the number of players you have. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this with my significant other, who surprisingly really liked it. He is usually not a fan of board games especially if they have a complicated or confusing rule structure, but regardless of all of the rules of this game, he had a ton of fun and has gotten really into playing it. It is really easy to learn and after playing through one game, you will understand all of the rules. The ease of picking up this game makes it a really great family game as well since it is engaging enough to be interesting for kids or adults, although i would recommend this more for older kids who will understand the rule structure and who aren't young enough to try to put the pieces in their mouth since there is a choking hazard with the small train parts. This version of ticket to ride is largely similar to the original, but has a lot of new game mechanics that add an element of difficulty, but in a really fun way. One thing i like about this version of ticket to ride is that it is a standalone game rather than just an expansion which definitely justifies the purchase price. You don't need the original game to play this one. If you are vacillating between getting the original game or this version, i recommend this one since it adds new mechanics, but both games are really fun so if you want a truly comprehensive board game collection, either or both would be a purchase you won't regret.

Get ready for a new train adventure as you travel across europe with ticket to ride - europe, the new edition of the worldwide hit from days of wonder. From edinburgh to constantinople and from lisbon to moscow, the game will take you on a ride to the great cities of turn-of-the-century europe. More than just a new map, ticket to ride - europe features brand new gameplay elements including tunnels, ferries and train stations. Plus, we've upgraded you to first-class accommodations with larger cards, new train station game pieces, and a lavishly illustrated game board. Like the original, the game remains elegantly simple, can be learned in three minutes, and appeals to both families and experienced gamers. Ticket to ride - europe is a complete, new game and does not require the original version. It is for 2 to 5 players, and it takes 30-60 minutes to play.

See Ticket To Ride - Europe (Days Of Wonder) FAQ.

I read the reviews on this game and watched some youtube video reviews as well and decided to purchase it for some new euro style gaming. I previously had purchased another euro style game called carcassonne which is now a family favorite (or should i say favourite) and i was looking for something else to add to the gaming mix. . Ticket to ride europe fit with what i was looking for. I first compared the two prominent versions of the game: the usa map to the europe map and read comparison reviews on them both before deciding to buy. I went with the europe version of the game because it seems there were more route paths to connect your cities compared to the usa map. What i did not expect was the names of the european cities to be really old and spelled differently than what i am used to now. I think it was done this way to fit into the time period, but not being that familiar with the old names of the european cities it was difficult for us to determine our various routes. The route cards do show a mini map though with highlights in the general area of the two cities you need to connect, but it is still a bit difficult especially for the younger kids in the family. What this means is that we need to take extra time in looking at our route cards and the map to decide on our paths to build. . Other than getting used to the city names the only other minor downside i see in the game is that there are so many train pieces. You have to be really careful not to drop them all over the place when picking up. The game does come with 2 extra train pieces per color which is good in case you lose a couple. After that though you may have to dock everyone a piece if you really start losing some (or buy a new game). . Regarding the game play, it is great! not too difficult to learn at all and once everyone knows what they have to do it moves along at a good pace. Although our initial games of 4 and then 5 people lasted about 2. 5 hours each to play which everyone thought was a bit too long. The non players passing through the room kept making comments like "you guys are still playing that game? ! ? ! " and "when the hell is it going to be over already? ! ? ". But those of us playing the game were not fatigued at all by the amount of time it was taking us to get through it. I think it is conceivable to have a game last maybe 1. 5 hours on average. . Overall, the family really liked this game. It is definitely a must for a unique and new type of gaming experience that is interactive and not just your boring roll the dice and move type thing. I will be getting the ticket to ride 1912 expansion pack for this game as well since i have read it adds a couple more elements to the play in addition to some new route cards. . Update: it has been about 1 year now since i had the game and i did get the 1912 expansion which adds a ton more route cards to the game. We have been playing this game so much that the base routes kept coming up and it was getting a bit boring. It seemed like we were always getting the same routes game after game. The 1912 expansion is a must. My family is addicted to this game and even more so with the 1912 expansion. This is a great game. -Notice from T. Debra, British Columbia

Great game! there are differences in the game play vs the original version but i think that once you experience this version, you will prefer it to the original rules. There are tunnels and ferries in addition to the routes which make the game a little more challenging, plus longer routes. The cards are also a larger than the original version's which actually makes a big difference during gameplay. No regrets buying this game even though i love the original, and the price is a little high. I highly recommend this game!

Ticket-to-ride---europe-(days-of-wonder) set picture

- R. AnonymousWe got this game for christmas as a new entry when the adult(ish) kids and friends return to the nest. We have enjoyed playing the game. Initially there is a bit of a learning curve and lots of rules to figure out. However, once you have played it for a few minutes, it all makes sense. You can take many different tactics and strategies to achieve success. We have played it as a 2 person game as well as a 4 person game. I believe 5 people is the max which limits the size of your gatherings where you may pull this game out. If programmed well, this would be a good app type of game. We have enjoyed playing this game. Depending on the size of the gathering, we enjoy telestrations (lots of laughs) and cranium for large groups, . With this game and card games for smaller groups. Games usually took 1 hour to complete.

I was contemplating between the u. S. Version and europe version. All the reviews kept saying there were only 3 extra renditions from the u. S. Version (europe has ferries, train stations, and tunnels). I tried reading the new rules that people were posting in their reviews and i ended up getting really confused. I bought the europe version anyway and didn't regret it at all. I got a couple of friends over to play and i read the directions about the new additions in the rule book over and over again. It was pretty confusing at first, but after reading it 10 times and trying to imagine it in my mind, my friends told me just to explain it to them in my own words and to demonstrate it with the board and pieces. After i demonstrated it to them, it made muchhhhh more sense. And then when other friends came to join in later, i explained the new rules to them and after the third time of explaining and demonstrating, everything made sense. The new additions make the game more fun and strategic, makes the game last longer, and it's not as cut throat as the u. S. One (if you don't complete a route, you can still complete it with a train station! no need to just give up in the middle of the game and troll people anymore! unless that's the purpose for why you love this game). Between the u. S. And europe versions, i would recommend the europe. Plus, you get to learn about another area in the world and you also get to laugh at your friends as they butcher all the names of the cities :)

Alvin And Dexter: A Ticket To Ride Monster Expansion

Meet alvin and dexter - two detailed monster figures that bring their own special brand of chaos to cities across the ticket to ride landscape. Alvin (the alien) and dexter (the dinosaur) are two wacky characters ready to help you stomp opponents and zap tickets in this fun expansion. But don't take them too lightly, they also introduce a devious new tactical layer to the game. The last two players to start get to place the monsters in different cities on any ticket to ride map. It doesn't matter which map - alvin and dexter are just as adept at rampaging through london, zurich or stockholm as they are in new york or san francisco. Once a monster moves in, it's now a city in chaos - no one can build a new route into or out of that city until the monster moves on. This is an expansion. An original copy of any complete board game from the ticket to ride series is required to play with the alvin and dexter monster expansion.

The F.A.Q. for Ticket To Ride India: Map Collection - Volume 2 (Days Of Wonder)

I'm excited to try out new versions of ttr. I love the original and most of the other spin offs. So far this one seems pretty straight forward. The wild cards are played a little differently on the swiss side. And the layering of points on the different routes on the indian side. I appreciate the double sided board. We have a weekly game night, and having two different maps on this edition will help to not get bored with the same one over and over. This is an expansion so you will need one of the original full games to have the trains and the money, so keep that in mind. . My only complaint would be that mine arrived a little dinged up, but that has nothing to do with the quality of the game play.

A number of questions have been asked here.

Q&A

(0) Question: Age recommended

(1) Question: Are the ticket cards in the india map the size of the original ticket to ride or the tenth anniversary game?

(2) Question: If i own ticket to ride (germany) can i play this expansion or do i need the original ticket to ride?

(4) Question: If i only have nordic countries can i play this game? i can always get one additional set of trains but i am not sure about the train cards.

Two board expansion- india and switzerland. I enjoyed the switzerland side, it's up to 3 players and my husband and i usually play as 2 players. Rules are a little different, but not complicated to learn and the game seems to be faster paced because of the smaller routes. Routes are easy to complete, but still competitive as you have many 1 track only routes to some cities. We also played the india game. I usually do exceptionally well on the u. S. , germany, and switzerland boards we have. India was another story. India has a lot of cities that are similar in spelling and sounding and it made it more complicated to remember where you needed to go, i spent more time looking at my routes than anything else. The extra points you get from having more than one route to a city was not something i thought about because i was trying to constantly remember where i was going and how i needed to get there. It's not a bad map, i just prefer the u. S. Map because i know where the cities are and if i'm going to play a game i'd rather spend the time enjoying the game than being frustrated because i have to keep trying to find my cities. I'm sure we'll play india again, my husband enjoys all the boards, and i enjoyed switzerland, but not a big fan of the india side.

We have the original us: ttr & the 1910 expansion. We've also played europe & asia maps as well as the marklin version (but we don't own them. Yet). This two-sided board gives us a second set of maps to play with. . Switzerland: our favorite map. Hands down. The treatment of the engines (wilds) and tunnels provides a good twist to the original gameplay and forces rethinking of how you play. Also, the map lends itself to picking up extra routes (which my wife loves) as well as choosing which surrounding country to go to (which i love: some routes show a city in switzerland connected to one of the surrounding countries with an associated number of points. You can choose which version of the route you want to try to complete). . India: also lots of fun; but very stressful to play. (and is only up to 4 players). The center of the map is so tight that competition for those individual routes is fierce. The bonus for this map is for completing routes in "loops" - make two completely independent connections between your cities to score 5-10-20-30 points, depending on how many loops you make. I love this aspect of the game, as it gives another real challenge on beyond simply connecting two cities. . If you have & love ttr, i highly recommend this pair of maps - especially if you typically play with only a few people. After playing switzerland, i really don't like going back to the very limiting us map. And i love india's loops, although the stress that that map induces is something i can only take so much of at once.

Note: a copy of a base ttr game is needed to play this expansion (it comes with destination tickets and maps, but not the train cards or trains). . My fiancé and i like to play games that rely at least a little on luck and aren't too complex (for her), but that also involve some strategy and complexity (for me). We usually play two-player, and we play ttr usa with the 1912 expansion at least a few times a month. So, we decided to give a couple of the expansions a try, and switzerland and india seemed like it had some nice additions to the game, plus a good amount of bang for the buck. We were not disappointed. . This is a wonderful addition to ticket to ride. You get two maps / sets of destination tickets, and each map introduces a new way to play vs. The base ticket to ride usa game (i. E. , switzerland adds tunnels and india adds ferries). We found this to be a great way to introduce these new mechanics to the game (as opposed to adding both at once as ttr europe and ttr nordic countries do). . Another thing we loved is that ttr switzerland added two new types of destination ticket:. . (1) for city-to-country tickets you have to connect the city in question to one of the four countries on the map. Each country is worth a different number of points, and you get the points for the highest scoring country connection completed (and if you don't connect to any country you lose the lowest points on the ticket). . (2) for country-to-country tickets you have to connect form the primary country to any of the other three countries. Again, each country is worth a different number of points, and you get the points for the highest scoring country you connect (and if don't connect to any country you lose the lowest points on the ticket). . Finally, for ttr india they added a fun end game bonus for connecting two cities on a destination card using two different routes (the routs can intersect but not overlap or share any trains). These are not always easy to get, and the scoring is reasonable and not game breaking when you do get them. . We have played ttr usa with the 1912 expansion, ttr europe, ttr nordic countries, ttr nederlands, and this one. I would pick up whatever ttr base set you like best (because the base set is still needed to play), and if you could only pick up one more expansion i would definitely recommend this one.

Appeal & game play:. Welcome players to all new worlds with totally new customs and ways to succeed! ticket to ride is a game that transforms you into the proud entrepreneur of your very own fledgling railroad, and in order to snuff out your competition, you have to start laying down tracks in all the right places in order to win and keep your customers happy. To do this, you will be commissioned to complete various tickets, which tell you where to build and what cities you will need to connect. Be careful to complete as many tickets as you can so that you get the bonus points on each, otherwise those points will count against you instead of for you. . That being said, the original ticket to ride is a big hit with my family and friends, so it was only a matter of time until i purchased these expansion maps. Immediately after opening the box i knew that i hadn't made a mistake. These maps come with their own unique set of elegantly designed ticket or destination cards, so no worries about buying more stuff unless you don t have the original game. Note: you must have the original ticket to ride or ticket to ride europe to use these maps. This is not a standalone game. Also, this is one board with two sides. In order to use one map, the other is face down on the surface you are playing on, so be careful not to put your board down anywhere wet, grimy, or too rough else you might take home a ruined map by accident. . Now let's talk about the swiss map. This map is small and quaintly beautiful, but it doesn't leave a lot of room for well-planned railroads like yours. Due to this, only about 2-3 players can get on the map at a time. Additionally, instead of just going from city to city, this map also throws in the element of the four surrounding countries that land-lock the swiss. What this means is that some tickets will connect cities as in the original game, but others will include country destinations that ask you to connect different surrounding countries to certain cities on the map. The more countries you connect, the higher your points will be for that ticket! furthermore, some routes are harder to claim than others because you have to literally move mountains to get where you are going. If you have ticket to ride europe, you already know what i'm talking about. If not, then you need to be prepared to break out the shovels in this game because there are tunnels to be built! and when you build tunnels, all kinds of nasty accidents can happen, so be ready to help your miners out with some extra cards from your hand because those nasty things can stop you from getting the route you need. So get out your pickaxe equipped swiss army knives and set to work to build the perfect international railroad in ticket to ride switzerland! . . Now let s head south to india! this country doesn't work like europe or america, so get ready for the culture shock of changing around the way your railroad earns end-game bonuses. Now, india is a land of beauty, and it has a lot of cities to connect. Therefore, it s not how many routes you can get put together that counts, but the amount of routes you can manage to string together into one large loop instead. This bonus gives you extra points for creating a circular route that includes multiple completed tickets within that same route. The more tickets you complete while making a big loop on the map, the more points you will earn! this map also has water routes like the europe map does. These are basically ferries routes; and these routes require that at least one wild or engine card be used to build them. Be sure to strategize appropriately as you build your railroad empire and keep the new twists in mind as you aim to tour india in ticket to ride india! . . Game features and packaging:. This expansion is beautiful and just as hearty in design as the original game. The art work is detailed and unique for each country, which is highly refreshing. The box is sturdy and designed with the same feel as the originals, but it is thinner overall. The ticket cards are full-sized and of similar card stock as the originals, so they are not flimsy at all. Card sleeves should not have to be used unless you see a ton of game play. . Overall:. This is an excellent expansion for an excellent game. The twists will keep you engaged and entertained as you learn your way around foreign countries and their cities. Frustrations will be inflamed and temporary rivalries are as easily come by as truces, but nothing can stop the unrelenting advance of progress! throw your top hat into the ring, play your cards right, and you too might be the master of the rails as you play ticket to ride!

My whole family loves ttr. This expansion actually comes with 2 maps, india and switzerland. I think they don't advertise switzerland as much because you can only play with up to 3 people, but my family really loves the swiss version. It is full of tunnel routes like europe, but the twist is that you can pick up wild cards off the board like any other card, and wilds can only be used with tunnel routes. Non-tunnel routes must be laid with color cards only. That part can be pretty frustrating, but on the other hand, the tunnels become less intimidating. . The india map is pretty fun, but the new bonus rule of making 2 distinct routes (basically making a loop that connects the destination cities) is pretty hard to do. And it's especially hard when everyone is trying to do it at the same time with a bunch of route cards (we tend to ignore the rules and deal tons of cards to make it interesting).

I own the original game plus europe, africa and asia and i play the games on my mac and sometimes my android phone. I love this game and all its variants. When i pull out one to play with my family though this one is my favorite. Maybe i'm bored with original and europe which i can play on my computer (and do, a lot) but maybe its because my favorite strategy is collecting tickets. This a a great game for completing a fistful of tickets. The circular routes are a great added strategy twist. The fact that your opponent can easily thwart your planned route (there are others) makes this very exciting - you can run out of trains by having to go around. I find that my strategy and the game play are never the same and that keeps me coming back. I dearly wish they would make this available in either the mac or android app store.

We first found the series when it was only in german. We have subsequently purchased 6 of the boards and we alternate playing them. We are retired people and have time for dinner and game together every late afternoon. We love the ticket to ride series. When our grandchildren arrive they love to engage in a game with us.

I find the switzerland map to be very well designed. I've literally played it over one hundred times and its still fun. There are some interesting strategies you can use and the map seems well-balanced. Great for if you are only playing 1 or 2 other people, although i think i slightly prefer to play it with only 1 other person.

I've really enjoyed the base game "ticket to ride: europe", but it's not an ideal game for two players. When i heard that days of wonder was re-releasing the "switzerland" expansion, geared towards 2-3 players, i was ecstatic! additionally, it was packaged with "ttr: india" a new expansion for 2-4 players. How could i refuse such an offer. This expansion has lived up to my expectations and beyond. . The switzerland expansion is an unbelievably tight board, but doesn't really look it. Locomotives can only be used for tunnel routes (of which there are many), so you can now draft two locomotives from the face-up piles on a single turn if you desire. Two new kinds of tickets are included: city to country tickets require you to connect a city to one of four countries listed on a card - each worth a certain number of points. Country-to-country tickets require you to connect a certain country to one of three others. In each case, you gain the points if you've made the connection. If you connect to multiple destinations, you receive the points for the country connection with the highest points. If you fail to make any connections, you lose the lowest number of points on the card. It's incredibly fun, and goes by quickly. . The india map is a bit more traditional, and features several ferries, but no tunnels. The major change here is a new, additional way of scoring called mandala', which can give you up to 40 points. To qualify, you must connect the two cities on a ticket by two completely separate routes (basically, a circular route). This is best accomplished when you're able to choose tickets that fall in a circular pattern (for example, an north-to-south ticket, a southeast to northwest, and a northern west-to-east ticket). This new rule not only creates an additional layer of strategy, it adds drama to the board, making it an excellent game for 2p. . Almost every time we take this expansion out, my wife and i will play a game, then flip the board over and play the other side! to say that we like one board is better than the other would be splitting hairs, as they are both excellent in their own way. We can now have a fun and competitive game of ticket to ride with as few as 2 players. I highly recommend this expansion to anyone who loves the game and regularly has less than 5 players.

We bought our first ticket to ride game for christmas 2011. Since then, we have ordered all of the games and additions. My grandson and husband love playing them. The games are made to last. All of the pieces are sturdy and sealed in zip lock bags for storage. The colors are bright . The cards are thick and coated. Not flimsy to split. The games cost a little more than the average games but they are worth every penny. Where else can you learn geography and stratagy and have so much fun? the games last a maximum of 1 hr. Each game has something different to give them a "twist". The box isn't huge - the boards fold twice. A couple of the games have a separate game on each side. So you get 2 games for the price of one and it makes storing them easy. They are planning a ticket to ride marathon during spring break. Our grandson was 9 when we started with the first. He has learned so much about world geography. Nana and papa highly recommend them!

Note: you need to have the original ticket to ride to play this because it doesn't include the train cards or plastic trains. . I love ticket to ride and wanted to buy an expansion. This set is great. I thought it was just india, but if you flip it, switzerland is on the back. It includes the board as well as two card sets. (one for india, one for switzerland. ) you play with just this board and location cards, but you need to use the trains and train cards from your full set with it. I love the colors, pictures, routes, etc. On this set. So much fun!

This is an expansion game, you will need parts from the original game. I play with my eight year old daughter and we think it is better than the original game. We played and loved switerland from the ipad app (a good way to try before you buy) getting the india board was a bonus! . The board is reversible one side is switerland and the other side is india. There were two decks of new tickets. On a packaging note the outer game box was damaged, the game and pieces were fine. The shipping box was und amazed, leading me to believe the damage occurred prior to packaging and shipping. Even after filling out a packaging feedback form and sending a photo no one contacted me to discuss.
